Sierra 69g Tipped MatchKing bullet load data?

Hey guys,

I have a box for the TMK bullets coming from Sierra in 69g. I want to run some load development with them in my 18" barrel, 1/8 twist AR15.

I'm having a devil of a time finding any load data on this bullet. I can find data for their HPBT MatchKing in 69g... but wondering how it translates over to the tipped version? Anyone have any ideas?

I'm thinking of using H335, Varget or CFE223 to test...

I just paid for the Sierra App and it doesn't list the Tipped version of the bullet, only the HPBT MK version... hmmm

I've had good luck with 25.0 of Varget with the 69 TMK in two gas guns @ mag length.

Just a FYI, the Newest Sierra 6th edition lists the 69 SMK and the 69 TMK with the same loading data for both 223 AR-15 and bolt gun data. .

Of the three you mentioned I have had decent experience with varget... but I prefer 8208 myself. I would roll with varget just for temp stability. I bet you will find something between 23.5-23.8, for some reason that's always seemed like a good spot no matter the bullet or brass.

I like 8208 in mine... I settled on 23.1gr. Here's some load data for you...from my 18" Larue 1:8 barrel.

I never shoot my ARs, so excuse the massive gap in dates.

Might be off topic but MHS was selling Lapua ammo with 69 SMK’s very cheap recently. I purchased a few cases. Great ammo

Just use the 69 SMK data in the app/book. I doubt the SMK and TMK would shoot *that* different.

Correct...just COAL will be different. TMK are much longer
