Sig Sauer - KILO3000 BDX LASER RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS

I just received mine today from Liberty Optics and downloaded the BDX app and entered my 6.5 creedmoor load then immediately paired with my Kestral 5700 Elite. Ranged the top of a telephone pole repeatedly at 2478 yards! Very pleased with the RF capability and the optic clarity is more than acceptable especially given the price point.
How is the warranty on these things? I am debating between these and either the vortex fury 5000’s or a vortex razor lrf

I don't think the warranty is quite as good as vortex but everything else is better.
The glass in these is better and the rangfinder is much better. Everyone I know that either owns the vortex fury or has used them say these are much much better.
One of my buddies got the vortex and as soon as he saw these he said he is selling the fury's asap to buy a set of the Kilo 3000
It's Vortex PST (binocs) quality which is plenty good. I will say though the focus is sensitive, the Diopters wont stay put to save their life, and honestly they're kind of uncomfortable. Having said that the rangefinder is absurdly good, the glass is good, and for the money it's impossible to beat right now assuming they last.
I'm working on a fix for the Diopters I'll let you guys know how that turns out.
Epiphany time for the G: maybe fix diopter's slop in the Sig/Vortex diopter disaster. I don't have either RF, but saw several photos of the dilemma so here goes: get yourself psyched up to go into the woman/girl hair-doo section in a store. By a card of SCUNCIs of the appropriate size. Don't be afraid to ask someone--you probably won't get rainbow cards in the mail--as to what and where, because you'll end up buying more and more of these "mini shock cords" for all manner and sundry fixes. Then see the photo; me thinks one on each would work, but maybe two? Start with the smallest as they're likely to "disappear" into the void. The idea is to pinch the ocular collar, but not too much...
Just got don’t with the first day of the S3 RTC match. Most ranging was done under time. I couldn’t be happier with the binos. They worked fantastic paired with a Kestrel Elite. Sometimes if you’re trying to get a range on a target and you’re pushing the range button a bunch of times it’ll overwhelm the Bluetooth connection or something of that nature I’m not sure. Then it won’t return a ballistic solution. You just have to stop for a second. Range it again and it’ll come up. It’s super fast though and ranged every target out to 1200 yards without hesitation. We also had a chance to shoot one of Sigs .308 AR’s with a BDX scope paired to a set of 3k’s. That also worked flawlessly and my team mate and I were able to get first round impacts on both targets out to 570 and 520 yards under time during the stage. Very pleased with this system!
Also of note. We had some 15 degree angles of fire and it sent that info to the Kestrel and returned spot on dope for the target!

I got my black rubber printer filliment yesterday and am starting to print the lense covers. They are going to be $18 each for whoever wants them. I'll ship priority mail and that's approximately $7 anywhere in the USA Pm me if you are interested. They take me about an hour and 45 min to make. So I'm not really making anything off of these.
I got several pm from different members wanting these but before I send any off wanted to get some decent photos of these and cover some details. First off they fit loose around the eye pice and snug on the Diopter ajustment ring this makes it really quick to get them on and off however if you adjust your eyecups out then they won't fit over the diopter.
If anyone wants some made that fit tight on the eyecups I can make those too just let me know. I tried it both ways and liked it this way better but I don't screw out the eyecups cause of the shape of my face

Sadly no I just tried a bunch on in the store and bought them and they threw away the package.
The model/size of Butler Creek caps are found on the inside of the flip cover. Obviously not so on the "Blizzard" see-through cover model.
The Yorktown makes for a pretty good reflective target lol.
Just thought I'd add a post-match update. I used my spotting setup pictured above at a matches this past Saturday and Sunday. It was one of the best pieces of spotting equipment on the 1000y line and everyone who used it was super impressed. Needless to say, my spotting scope was sold by Tuesday and this will be my dedicated setup going forward.

So as you all know I'm a big fan of the kilo 3000 binoculars well my wife just got a new rifle for shooting 3 gun and I topped it off with a sig bdx 2.5-10 scope and a red dot on a 45 degree offset this combo works good cause at our match's we shoot steel out at 500 yards and it's 10 inch plates so not too much fun using a 4x or even a 6x. Of course you can do it with that but it's super hard to see your splash and it's always windy at our range. And often damp so no dust to spot either.
So I mounted the scope grabbed the Chrono and headed up the mountain to get a zero and get fps for her dope.
we quickly made a profile on the phone using the sig app and after getting a good 100 yard zero we proceeded to a clearcut and started ranging and shooting and it's stupid easy for new shooters to quickly get hits at long range.
My only mistake was that we couldn't see anything much over 350 yards so we didn't get to shoot very far but man was this fast and simple. We were shooting up and down hill at extreme angles and the dope was spot on. The combo of the binoculars and scope was fun. I could see bullet trace through them and also she could talk me onto a target I could range and she could engage right away.. much easer then if we were using a rangfinder and separate device to watch for trace and direct fire.
I think sig is going to push the competition to come out with some really cool tech in the next few years.

Got some much need accessories today.. detachable neck strap, Vortex tripod adapter, butler creek caps. JeremyV is sending out an ocular cover and a new case will be here soon too. Excited to get some more time out in the field with them, but was watching big horn sheep in Anza Borrego last weekend and am very happy so far.
More importantly.......why is your aquarium full of bicks and bubbles but no fish?
Important question first... there are fish in there, they are likely hiding in said bricks.
As for the Butler Creek caps, they are 33940, and they fit perfect. I measured with calipers prior to ordering and it looked like they might fit loose, but in actuality I wouldn't want them any tighter.

If only you guys could see what we are doing now. But you will one day.
Has anyone tested these to confirm that the laser is centered to the circle reticle when actuated? Known issue amongst other brands, and curious if it's common with the Sig too.
I am going to give one a shot. Ordered one and will be using it at the “XX” ELR match at Q Creek.
This is going to be an issue with all LRFs. Simply because the systems are glued in place. They try as best they can for good alignment but that is just the nature of the beast.
Now I'm getting excited!
I just got the kesteral 5700 elite with link and man with these binoculars and the kesteral things couldn't be simpler. I think even a Marine could do this now
Fixed the independent focus rings moving.
Installed 1.625 ID o-rings with a .0625 cross section.
Clears the main focus knob.

Going to give it a try on the Vortex Furys as they have the same issue
Since mine has to go back for warranty (and get replaced) I have gotten more aggressive than normal looking at the loose focus situation. I like the idea of the oring, but I think that there is a more elegant deployment of the method. I have some orings coming in based on the measurements I've taken. Hopefully it bears fruit that I can share. I have more risky ideas that I may try if it doesn't work out. Sig still has yet to respond on replacement. I'm giving them a pass due to demand but at some point my patience will run out.
