Hunting & Fishing Sighting in Red Dot w/12 ga shot

I'll soon be getting a new Turkey gun and I'm not sure the best way to:

1) bore the sight the gun to get the red dot in the range

2) zero the red dot with 12 ga shot shells

I'm assuming that for zeroing, it's a matter of moving the dot to the center of the pattern on the pattern board, but I'm not sure.

I put a box about 10 yds out and adjusted from the hole the wade made then checked pattern out to 50 using normal turkey loads

Thats a nice shotgun you picked out mine is a Moss 535 Ats with egw base and tasco propoint reddot I use 3in winchester extended range shells.

I don't know if it's just me but every time I sight in my shotgun with a red dot I feel like I'm sighting in a sledgehammer with a Mickey viewfinder.
