hello all let me start by saying i am well aware ya get what ya pay for but in a weak moment at the eastern outdoor show this week i purchased a sightmark triple duty 4 to 16 scope to put on my 300wsm and was wondering if anyone has used that brand of scope and how it has worked for them?

Not to sound like a snob but Sightmark scopes are absolute bottom of the bucket.

Save your pennies and get an optic your .300WSM won't break in one range trip.

Re: sightmark scope 4 +16+44

Impulse buys are a bit$h sometimes. I say try it and tell us what you think. The import stuff continues to get better and better. I have a friend who has 2 grand invested in his stick but $50 in his glass. He has a swift, trying to get him to get something better but the damn scope wont die. It tracks fine, gets him to a 1000yds and he shoots as good with it as he does with my Premier. Hard to argue with someone who shoots the same with low end glass as high end glass. The difference in price from the low to the high end stuff is astronomical more than 50 times at least. It would be like going from a trailer to a million dollar mansion.

Anyhow just run it, the worst that can happen is you break it and then you can tell us how the CS is.

Re: sightmark scope 4 +16+44

ok got the 300wsm browning xbolt on paper and after 15 rounds the rings on scope started to loosen up!!! not impressed at all. i retightend as tight as humanly possible plus one quater turn fired 2 more rounds and got an additolal 3/4 of a turn on them. so the next day i purchased new rings and have not made it back out yet.

Re: sightmark scope 4 +16+44

I had one for a little while, and had the same problem at first using the aluminum rings that came with it. I upgraded to a nice set of steel rings, and that helped out. I agree you it's not top of the line as far as optics go, but I thought it was a pretty good scope for the price.

Edited for spelling

Re: sightmark scope 4 +16+44

well its offical i wasted 200 bucks! i mounted the scope on my 223 with the lupold rings and found that the windage knob no longer works. an the green light up recticle quit working red still works. called sightmark and they said its covered and i asked if it was recoil tested and they told me only if requested! so now i send it back and get one recoil tested when i get it back regardless it will not go on my 300 i will have to break the bank and bud a good scope. any ideas on a good one for long range shooting under 700$ i think i already know the answer LOL

Re: sightmark scope 4 +16+44

I bought one this weekend to try out. When installing it on my rifle it got knocked off the table and bent the tube. If it can't handle a that little fall I sure wouldn't want to let my life depend on it.
