Alright I have been reading and looking for about two weeks now and I finally figured I would just ask and see if I can get the answer I need. I currently ordered a Sightron siii 8-32x56 LRMOA optic and I plan on mounting it on a Remington 700 sps varmint with a 20moa rail. Now my question that I have been searching for is what size rings will fit this rifle/optic combo? I realize there is a thread dedicated to how to figure it out but my problem is that I am ordering my base and rings together, the ring choices I have picked out are Nightforce or TPS. So I was curious I have read everything from low all the way to extra high rings, does anyone have the same setup that they could shed some light on for me? Thanks.

Re: Sightron Optics and a Rem 700 sps

I have the S3 6x24-50 LRMOA and I traded my NightForce medium rings for Badger Ordnance lows to a member on here that had a NF with a 56mm. He said the mediums worked great. Hope this helps.

I have a 700SPS-V with a 56mm obj on a 20moa weaver rail with weaver high rings .5" and its higher than neccessary, changing them for whatever TPS is .3something. Cheek weld sucks with high rings and a non adjustable comb.

I have used a low set of IOR tactial rings on a 20moa base for a Remington SPS 243 varmint with the SIII 6-24x50. Worked great. You may need med. not sure

Re: Sightron Optics and a Rem 700 sps

I've got Low TPS "W" Series steel rings (.925" top of base to centre of ring) on my .300RUM Remington Sendero II. With the Farrel 20moa base and the Sightron SIII it is still a bit too high for a good cheek weld so I have to use a stock pack. Not ideal but gets the job done. Lower rings would help as there is still plenty of clearance between the barrel and scope.
