F T/R Competition Sightron SIII Reticle?

Re: Sightron SIII Reticle?

i have the fine crosshair reticle in my SIII 10-50 and really like it. I can pinpoint where I want to hold without distracting dots, etc.
At least for paper shooting, I think this is the best of the 4 possible reticles for this model

Re: Sightron SIII Reticle?

i have a SIII in a 8x32 with a fine crosshair(recently installed). went to the range today and set up some 3.5" steel targets i made up. painted them white and stuck a 1"orange sticker on them for shits and giggles.
set up at 850 yds and could make out the dots at 32 power pretty good(low mirage).
+ 1 for what snafu said about distracting dots to look at also, there are so many more things to distract you at 1k(wind)

Re: Sightron SIII Reticle?

I never had a Sightron scope, but I can assure you that I had no problems losing a fine chrosshair with a target dot in the black. I could do that in the early morning, or when it was overcast or when the sun hit the target just right. No problem at all doing that.

Fine crosshairs are for young people.

Re: Sightron SIII Reticle?

I have the SIII in 8-32 with fine crosshair and never had a problem with reticule disappearing in any kind of weather, the X ring on the other hand....

Re: Sightron SIII Reticle?

i havent used my moa-2 recticle past 300 yet (will this weekend ) mine is the lrirmoa2 scope i like the ability to turn the dot on for contrast when i'm shooting at a orange dot its off on a mr63 target i turn it on makes it really stand out against the black backround.
