SilencerCo Hybrid 46 Universal Silencer

Works decent for what it is Other options out there are better tho for not much more. I don't like how silencer I glues the outer sleeve with the serial number on it but I haven't seen any issues on the few I'm around regularly including my own.

Joe Bob Outfitters also has the Dead Air Armament Sandman-S .30 Cal Silencer for $850 Ill check out your suggestions. This is my first so I am looking for suggestions.

Yes… I have one. Very versatile, but good at many things, excellent at none.

Except on my contender. Where it is really excellent!

Good value. Once you set up the quick lock brakes, it is easy to get some more specialized units for rifles and bigger guns. But they hybrid is great for the “I am only getting one” folks.

I run one mostly on my 18in Grendel shooting 123g eldm's. I can shoot without earpro. The 90gr varmint rounds is a different story.. I also run it on a 11.5in 5.56 and it's decent but not hearing safe.

I like mine alot. As others have said it's not the best at anything, but it's pretty decent at everything. I've put mine on just about everything except a 45-70. When I shoot mine on my 24" 6.5 creedmoor it is "hearing safe" and very soft shooting. However, there is really no such thing as hearing safe supersonic ammo. It has benefit of being low backpressure can that works pretty well on guns like the LMT MWS and AK platform guns that tend to not like silencers. Also is alot of fun on pretty much all subgun platforms, but is a little big.

If you truly only want to shoot 6.5 and 308 there are better options. If you want to have a can that you can slap on practically anything it's pretty great. However, once you buy this one you'll probably buy more. That's where I'm at 🤷‍♂️

I’m waiting on the 36M. Can suppress up to 338 LM/9mm. I wanted an all around can for spare rifles, cz scorpion etc. I have a TBAC Ultra 9 for my precision rigs and a Saker 556 for my SBR and other 556 semis and bolts

The more I get into suppressors over the years the more accuracy, repeatability and means of attaching to the host become heavier players in my decision to buy a can vs the sound

Some people search for a can solely based on the decibel reduction. If that’s what you want the 46M won’t be the greatest in the 6.5 and 30 cal platforms. But I’ll bet you won’t complain about it

To me cans now days seem to have the decibels reduced enough where you can start venturing into cans that fit larger calibers or break down into shorter configurations without giving up a ton

I've wanted one since they came out. My only use for it would be on my .45 cal smokeless muzzleloader. That's all I want it for. But with a pretty heavy 26 barrel already, do I need another 8 inches and a pound hanging off the front of that beast?

BTW, I'm sure typos aren't honored, but the Hybrid 46 is showing a list of 15 dollars MSRP right now lol.

I run one with a 30 cal end cap. For the money it's hard to beat on the versatility of this suppressor. Probably going to switch it over to a Marlin 1895SBL whenever the stupid gouger prices ever come down.

I have the SiCo Hybrid 46 and DA Primal 46… I only use them on 450 bushmasters for hunting. They’re great big bore cans, and work (obviously) on smaller calibers. Not as good as dedicated cans though. If 30cal is the biggest you plan on suppressing I’d go for a 30 cal can over the 46 (for 308 & 6.5 use)

Tons of brands out there to fit your price needs and wants

I agree with the other guys saying that if you aren’t going above 30 there are better options. My buddy has one and wishes he went with something else I th…he will be picking up a sandman S soon. The hybrid is long and heavy, and I didn’t notice much if any difference in sound between that and my Rex MG7k (to be fair they were on different bolt guns though).

SiCo Hybrid was my first can. Like others have mentioned, it’s a good compromise can. The thing that really got me though were the accessories. I probably paid as much for end caps and thread adapters as I did for the can. IF you only plan to use a can on .308 and 6.5, I would recommend a dedicated .30 cal can. I really like my YHM Resonator R2 but TBAC gets great reviews here.

I think it's a good can and SiCo is a good company.

But, if you're just looking for something to run on a 6.5 and .30, then take a look at the Rex Silentium MG7s. The price is amazing and they are quality built cans. After my first two cleared and I got some time behind them, I ordered four more cans from them.

If you really want the same versatility you get with the Hybrid, look at the Griffin BW46. It does everything the Hybrid does, plus more and comes with all of the accessories to do it. Plus it comes apart for cleaning. I've shot mine a bunch on pistols as well as a Galil in x39. It's sound is really good. Plus the mount options are about the best in the industry. Price is a little better on BDU as well $736. If you're mil, first responder, etc... and qualify for Griffins discount, it might be even better than that.

I will be picking up my Griffin Armament Bushwhacker 46 on Saturday. I have a co-worker that has the Hybrid. Has-been with me at the shop whe. I got to visit my 46. After hearing it on my 338 LM and .308 AR-10 he ordered one. He said it sounded better and being able to take it apart for cleaning were a big upgrade to him.

I use the Hybrid 46... I think its a great can. Though it might be on sale, remember youll likely end up buying a bunch of the accessories. (End caps, pistons, ASR adapters, etc..)
Mine is currently on my .338 Lapua Magnum bolt gun... and its performed very well on my 5.56, 300 BLK & 308 rifles
Great option for multiple pistols as well.

Are you using appropriate end caps with the other calibers? 5.56, 308 etc? Wondering how big of a difference it is if I just use the provided .46 sized end cap on a 5.56 or 30 cal. Thanks!

Digging this up, as I'm very new to all this.

If I wanted to use the KeyMo system on a Hybrid 46, it absolutely must work with my CMMG Banshee 45, which has a .578-28 threaded barrel.

Unless my GoogleFu is fading, .578-28 KeyMo has proven hard to find.

Will this one work? My dealer said it wouldn't because it was KeyMicro, but given the chart in the second link it can work with both...?

Thanks!
