Many of you have seen the NV pictures I've taken to compare various tube performance, etc.
I picked up a Sionyx Pro NV camera to see how it would compare, and I honestly had no high hopes.
As expected, it certainly not an L3 Unfilmed killer, or even an Elbit killer... but it IS fairly decent in 50% moonlight or bright starfield.
Also, it's not to shabby when an illuminator is being used. Frankly, I think you can hunt with an laser without any real issues.
That being said, thermal is 100% the way to go, then NV with a laser, and the, for the cost effective not to shabby shot: the Sionyx Aurora Pro:
These are picture with a few porch lights from houses next to mine:
No illumination as seen pretty much with the naked eye:
Through the camera in NV mode:
One thing I want to stress is that taking pictures is much harder then I would’ve thought but looking through the unit it’s actually pretty clean.
Using a few Illuminators... with no light aside from 50% moonlight...
Naked eye:

Aurora Pro - 60w light under porch ~75ft away
What's especially cool is that you get color when the light source is not IR. I there is enough ambient light for the unit to work, you see NV color. If you need to use an illuminator... then you get the B/W kind of view we see with the powerful illuminator above.
It does come with a rail mount, and works with rifles up to 556. Assuming you'll put a laser on the rifle you can hunt with it like that...
All for $1000.00 as opposed to $3000-$5000 for a PVS-14. (Though at $5k you should get a thermal.)
