Many factory rifles come with the old sling studs, which I completely hate and have utterly no use for. To me it's like drilling a wood screw into the stock for no reason. All of the good slings I use for competition are on QD. Only my hunting rifles have slings that live on them where I don't mind these studs.
In the past I've removed the studs, drilled out the holes, and installed GroveTec flushcups. This way I can use the rifle for silhouette and off hand matches with a sling, but also remove it for Base Class positional shooting.
My LGS that focuses on ARs found these:

I'd never seen them before, but they're a great idea if you have no use for sling studs and they require no modification to the gun. I ordered a pair, and my only reservation is that they may annoy me, flopping around, went the sling is off...but we'll see.
