Small portable barricade?

I am looking for small barricade made out of ply wood that can fit flat in a trunk of a car. Any one built one yet looking for pics or ideas

ive built small 2'x4' barricades.....but even that might be too big to fit in youre trunk.

personally if you are looking for inspiration, the Vtac barricades are really good,.....i think what i would do is build the lower 2' -3'of the Vtac barricade so it can fit in your car.



another option is to get some 2x4' and a work-horse clamps set..........and skin the work horse in some plywood..........this way you can completely break it down so it fits in your trunk as well

YouTube "6.5 Guys practice barricade", they have a cool set up they made that breaks down. You could make one along the same lines and customize it to fit in your trunk. My buddy just made to fit in a Tacoma truck bed with a tool box and it works great.

One of the guys at our club build a modified VTac barricaded that hinged about half way up and had removable legs so that he could fit it into the trunk of his car.

Not sexy but its lite and easily portable is a adjustable saw horse rom home depot.

This is what I was thinking. Add a couple hinges then use a lock like gates or restroom stalls have to keep it open. Make the legs how they best work for you and that would be super portable.

I've already been drawing it out. Hahaha. I'm thinking 5ft for the high section. 3ft for the middle and 18" for the low end. 12" wide sections. Should work rather nicely.

For this morning's project I am making cuts (between sips of coffee) per the 6.5 Guys barricade. It's only 36" wide without the bases so it easily goes in the back of a pickup.

This is after about 90 minutes of work. It's all from scrap. The bases use a 2x6 at 36" in length and I will likely drill a hole to fit a grommet and spike. Not sure what I'm going to do next with it. I have plenty of plywood to make some cut outs.

Jmartin, I think I'll be 100% stealing this design. Do you notice any movement once its fully assembled (from a non-hinged design) or do the hinges keep it pretty tight?

I assume the two 1 x 2 x 8' (cut into 3/4" x 3/4" strips) is for framing up the sheathing? Wouldn't it be easier to buy two 3/4" x 3/4" x 8' moulding?

Here is my version. I added a 1" pipe to mimic a cattle gate. I have the 1" threads on the 52" and 36" boards so I can screw it in and shoot from there.

The plyboard is pretty weak and I could see it getting punched out if someone misses the holes lol

i have a two pack of Stanley sawhorses from home depot that i use, 65$ for two and you can set them at different heights. not exactly a PRS barricade but they work and are easily portable.

The draw clasps keep the barricade very tight, I get no movement from it at all.

Molding would be easier but also more expensive.

LOL yeah those are a bunch of frat houses so they were probably inebriated and didn't even notice. I only set it like that for a minute or two to get a decent picture with the lights. You are not the first person to tell me that!
