I need some clarification.

I was about to create a subscription to the online training after seeing this:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Subscription Group Details

5 Day Trial Period is $140.00
Regular rate is $10.00 for 30 Days (recurring)
</div></div>

When I signed into Paypal, it's saying:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">$140.00 USD for the first 5 days
Then $10.00 USD for each 30 days</div></div>

So, my question is...what is the pricing? Is it $140 to sign up and then $10/mo thereafter? I'm asking because if that's the case, I'm gonna have to pass.

I understand nothing is free and the contributors time is worth something but that's a little rich for my taste right now. Thanks in advance.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

You have it correct..

The $140 is for past lessons which we capped at $140, and then it is $10 a month moving forward.

There are more than 30 lessons which you get access too from the minute you sign on.

Times are tight, we understand that, which is why we capped it at $140.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Thank you for the quick response, Frank. I very much appreciate what you and the rest of the Hide members contribute here.

Have you guys considered creating something like a pay-per-view option where you charge a certain amount per video? I ask because there are certain videos I am very interested in seeing because they pertain to exactly what I'm wanting to learn.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

I have been looking for a better delivery option, unfortunately the best ones that give you things like pay per view are well over $2500 a month for us to host. So the cost versus return is a bit high. I am looking at another option from Brightcove that might do it for $500 a month, but still, its an investment.

Yikes...damn! Something that could work is members place an order for the said video and after payment has been received, a download link could be sent for the said video for a certain window of time and then it would expire? I dunno, I'm just grabbing at straws and trying to think of something new.

Thanks, again, for everything!

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

I just paid for a subscription - I'm relatively new to shooting and I recall watching one video on the site not so long ago - cant see it now, but it made me realise just how much theory I'm missing.

Nothing will substitute putting lead down range but I am definitely a little tired of missing and not being able to work out why - embarrassing truth but the truth nonetheless.

<span style="text-decoration: line-through">..I'm getting an access denied error though ??</span>

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Up to lesson three and picked up on at least 5-6 points I need to work on already! Definitely paying off already.

Really like the PDFs that go with the training as well.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Honestly the $140 pain goes away after working your way through all the videos, reading the PDF's and doing it over and over again later down the road to see what you missed the first time.
The $10 a month is about what Netflix charges but I learn a heck of a lot more from Frank and Jacob

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Killshot,

In value terms, its a bargain. Less than $5 for each of the 30 lessons and $10 basically for a new lesson per month. PLUS you get access to the guys to help you understand and deliver on the lessons. It wouldn't be the first time Fank has shot another video just to highlight some points that came up in the online discussion.

Offsetting this cost against the number of rounds for a trial and error approach and there is no debate

What I found was that much of this stuff would never have entered my mind in the first place. The internet/buddies all have strong opinions but it is often strongly held prejudice rather than hard won experience.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Guys, keep in mind that a years subscription entitles you to $120 off a PR 1&2 class at Rifles Only.

If you are planning on attending, the cost of the online stuff is taken right off of the price of the course.

The lessons are getting pretty advanced in some cases, it is best to start at the beginning.

Upcoming lessons on mirage and movers will be worth twice the price.

The information of late on semi automatics is INVALUABLE!

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

So basically you get 15 or 16 free lessons for the 140.00. That in itself is a huge bargain. I would venture to say that once there are many more lessons that the initial price may go up.

How anyone wouldn't want to scoop that deal up is beyond me. I'm certainly not for the pick and choose method as I believe you're either in or out.

The financial commitment that is needed to fund the continuing lessons is up in the air and unknown.

My suggestion is you hurry up and get on board now while you get half the lessons everybody else already paid for for free!!!

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

I think it is a bargain at this price.I joined it when they first started it. Not being able to attend any classes at this time,at least I can go to my local range and practice what I have learned here with out doing it all wrong.Plus Frank and Jacob are here to answer any questions you have.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

The price of the training is cheap when you compare it to the increased results if properly applied to your shooting.

After close to 25 years of service, field, fullbore & F class, including competitions at international level, I thought I knew a fair bit. Well I was wrong.

The training tied in quite a few loose ends for me, and frankly, if this had have been available to me when I started shooting I would not have had so many faults to correct in middle age !

There are 3 things that I will always keep close at hand from now on.

1. Accuracy International with a Schmidt & Bender.

2. IOTA indoor training aid.

3. Snipers Hide Online Training.

It's a long trip from Australia to Rifles Only, but one day I fully intend to claim that $120 off PR 1 & 2.

Keep up the good work, we do appreciate it very much.

:)

+1. I know the lessons have helped me a lot. I always look forward to new ones. Even if they did not offer the discount from a class, I would still sign up for these. With everything that we buy for this sport, $120 for lessons is a no brainer! For those on the fence, don't hesitate to sign up.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Oh and to the OP, you have a nice rig. However, the bipod costs more than the lessons that you claim to be "too rich" for you blood. No insults or bashing intended, but that's my assessment.

No offense taken, and thank you. I agree 100% that the training is worth the price and I hope I didn't give a different impression. When I purchased/completed my current setup (bipod included), my finances weren't quite as tight as they are now.

The only reason it's a little "too rich" for my blood is because I was recently given notice that I will be laid off. Therefore, I can't afford to spend an extra $140 at this time.

When I have things taken care of financially, I will most certainly be purchasing a subscription.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Why don't student's at Rifles Only get unlimited access to the online courses for free since the initial investment was spent in actual class. It would seem that at least we should get a discount? Am I out of line here? You get almost all your online course money back in discount on a pr1&2 but spending well over the $140 and $10 a month for the actual course's at Rifles Only doesn't get student's online refresher courses for free?

I see the value of the $10 really come into it's own when you have a question to ask and the guys from RO answer your query quickly and effectively.

You pay for updated material and the on-going diligence of upkeep and the occasional online assistance, not to mention the cost of running a website.

Derek,

While it is a joint effort put on by both Rifles Only and Sniper's Hide, a RO student doesn't help out SH, so the fact that RO offers Online training members a discount is an added benefit. So it works, just the other way around.

Half of the online training is there to support and pay for SH, so that is why. We have done as much as possible to keep it affordable to as many people as possible and RO certainly helps that, so I think the lessons are a bargain at the $140 plus the $10 a month. Many others agree.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

I agree with Frank
wink.gif

I'm sure I won't make it to RO to take advantage of the $140 credit because unfortunately their a long damn way from me. But getting the lessons is a way to bring them to me so that I can learn from them without having to fly there to do it.
Now I'd be happy a could be if I could get a RO or SH T-Shirt to make up for the credit that I won't use...Hint, Hint

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Let me first say thank you Frank for all the assistance and knowledge you have provided and will in the future. I agree for someone who cannot afford to attend Rifles Only either in time, or money the online class option is invaluable. To have the knowledge and expertise of top class shooters at your fingertips is awesome. I am all about supporting the Hide in any way possible, and when I read that online classes gives you a discount on rifles only classes it brought the question to mind, that since I have already paid good money to attend rifles only I wondered why I would have to invest more for the same info or to refresh my course knowledge. Now that you have made me aware that a rifles only student doesn't help out the hide I see where your coming from and why we [student's] would not have free access to the classes. Once again your help has been outstanding during my course at rifles only and with the Snipers Hide site that you provide. The site itself and all the shooter's on here have an unmatchable amount of information. Thank's again Frank.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

For what I spend on rifles and the other stuff that goes into this sport, the fee for the online training is well worth it. My schedule doesn't allow for getting out to many training programs, so having an online training is a real asset.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Really! The $140 equates to about that many (140) rounds of quality ammo in the rifles I shoot. At 62 and in moderately good shape, I am not sure I am up to a Rifles Only course, but two weeks of online training has improved my shooting immensely--way more than hurling those rounds down range without direction.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

I am a newbie but I have a question about the classes. Are you going to put them on disk? I shoot very far from civilization and no internet access so bringing a disk with me would be awsome.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

You can always take notes and bring them along.
I'm a subscriber, and that's what I do.

Burning this stuff on Disk increases the opportunity for theft.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Frank,

A few questions:

1) If a guy signs up and uses the training for say a year or so and stops and then sometime after that wants to go over it again, would he have to pay for it all over again?

2) I read that there are some pdf's, are there enough of them to make the above a non-issue?

3) When signing up, is there an on going monthly $10.00 charge or can we pay once for a year's worth of new lessons?

Sorry if these were asked/answered somewhere else and I missed it.

Thanks!

David

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Frank

1. If you buy the program and have questions, will you be able to get real time answers?

2. How do you buy the program?

Sorry if this has been covered.

Thanks, Gil Horsley

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

You are buying access to a private forum where the lessons are posted. It is just like any other forum here, but private. Lessons are posted, questions are answered, and new lessons are posted based on the discussion. You can post asking a question anytime, we answer as fast as possible.

PDF files are locked, the information is meant for here only. Having open videos and PDF files invites problems. The lessons are not so complex where you can't recall the information from memory. If that is the case bring your laptop. But you can't move the lessons around, you watch them only.

Yes, if you sign up for a year, stop paying and six month later want to start again, you pay the $140. These lessons are valuable, our time is valuable, they are already reduced in price to allow as many people as possible to afford them. The past lessons alone just based off the $10 are more then $350 in value. We capped it at $140 to help. As it has been stated in this thread, the system is not very robust, in fact it is very basic, so we don't have the luxury of managing every situation. I continue to look for an affordable solution that increases our capabilities, but so far the cheapest is about $2500 per month to operate, the best about $5k per month. Hosting, video, all that goes into this cost money, much more than most understand. So consider $10 a true bargain when you figure the price of a class at any firearms school.

Re: Snipers Hide Training...how much, again??

Thanks for the info. I joined yesterday afternoon and had my questions answered in doing so but thanks for the response. That is one of the things that I like about it already. If someone has a question, someone is on it, and the attention and depth of the answers seem to be much better than that which you get off of the regular forums. That's important because like is said over and over, "It's hard to train someone without being there to see what they are doing".

I was only able to get through 1 and 1A but love them so far. Thanks for your time!
