There's a stay at home/shelter in place (one of the two) order going into effect here in GA at 6PM today. It explicitly says that going outside for exercise, which in my case is spending three hours walking ~10 miles on a forest trail three times a week, is OK. You wanna arrest me for being out in the woods all alone except for squirrels and the occasional snake and seeing no other humans outside of the occasional bicyclist who pass by me for a few seconds? There are many many more people in this state far more deserving of being arrested for not practicing "social distancing" and playing by the rules. 'Course, I'd be pissed off by those cyclists even if there wasn't social distancing or whatever in effect 'cause it ruins my enjoyment of nature (one prick went by with a damn LEAF BLOWER spraying the path in front of him, for some reason. People find themselves in distress every day. Is the paddleboarder less of an asshat if he finds himself stranded if there is no pandemic, and the whole world is doing all of the things that tend to get them into trouble too? How about the guy and the avalanche? Shit happens, whether there is a pandemic or not. We can play what if all day. The fact is hat you are safer in your home than outside of it, most of the time. For the good of society, you should never leave those confines- pandemic or not. Heaven forbid you find yourself in a situation that requires some support, and someone else needs that support at the same time. Never, leave, home. Ever. It’s better for society.

We went out shooting on Sunday.

so by that logic you shouldn’t be able to carry or have a gun because you might need to shoot someone and then a lot of people will have to show up.

Im not saying I buy into the ideas I said I can see the side of. Just I can see them for the argument others make.

You get in one by ignoring science and making poor decisions. Or taking risks you didnt need to.
In my 700 or so days of back country skiing in one of the most volatile snowpacks in the US and I have never been in a slide.
And have skied some badass steep lines. Just always waited until the science was right to make it safe(r). A 45 degree chute at 14,000 ft is never “safe”. ?

I have not worked in a hospital, but I worked daily with a population that had a 75% HIV rate while I was living in a tent in the middle of the jungle. We also had hemhorragic fever, and other really nasty and contagious stuff all around. No basic sanitation in many places. Makes this CoV stuff look tame.

I can see the argument, but I have also seen for too long where that argument of “necessary restrictions” on liberty in the name of safety or the externalities of affecting others lead. This is the response from a duely trained and schooled agent for the state.
It has taken many years for people to get to this stage where ones personal Responsibility has fallen to reliance on the state instead of yourself. If YOU take a risk YOU should take responsibility for those actions. The state has stepped in and risked others to save the idiot. They preach evolution but at every corner they interfere.
Some dumbass gets swamped by an avalanche because he was where he shouldn't be and they should bury his frozen ass in June when the snow melted. I would feel the same for my wife, daughter or brother. If I was on scene I most definitely would do all I could do. I would not expect others to risk life or serious injury for the stupidity of myself or others.
Personal Responsibility!! Look it up. If there were more people accepting it there would be less reliance on Dot Gov to trample rights for your safety.

Just because I can see and verbalize why the govt says something does not mean I agree with it.
