Even in WWII, we conceded Wake Island, the Philippines, and control of the greater Pacific, until we could marshal enough forces to run their fucking asses over.

Let's not fall on our swords over something that isn't practical (and is purely principle) and jeopardize winning the war. In the game of hearts and minds, bump stocks is not a winning argument. And it's those hearts and minds (how ever misinformed and well intentioned) that vote politicians in that support this kind of crap. Is it frustrating? Hell yes. But patience and persistence is what will win the day, not ultimatums and unbridled anger. Better to tuck the anger away, and use it when the more opportune moment arises...which may very well be as AJ portends; open, violent rebellion.

My wife asked my this morning why i don't have a bump stock. My answer was because they are pieces of crap.
We went to "gun show" (not your traditional kind, but can't think of what else to call it) last summer. There were a bunch of vendors and many many had full auto guns you could shoot. She did a mag of a full auto 9mm AR and ended up pointed up about 20 degrees in about 2.5 sec.
I asked her if she remembered how practical that was. Then I said "that was automatic, a bump stock takes some manipulation by the shooter to work".
We all know aimed accurate fire is best. I am sure with a lot of practice you could get somewhat good at the bump stock thing, but in general it is just a novelty.

I believe the answer to your question is, "BECAUSE we still HAVE firearms." They want them gone, and once they are, they will have no problem coming after the other stuff as well. Why? Because they want power and control over the population. It was actually 1984 when I read 1984, but this concept is well-covered as I recall. So, yes - once guns are gone, look for one or more of the things on your list to be next.

Once we go down that trail, anyone who doesn't like what we do, such as long range precision rifle fire, can always argue against the "practicality" of a device or hobby.

I'm not a sniper. However, I am a long range shooter. I am also an avid student or the military arts and history. I have always admired and been fascinated with the art of sniping. I often lament the fact that I didn't get the chance to become a sniper during my military career. I'm sure that there are a lot of members on this forum who share the same interest that I do and for the same reason. We're not wannabes, just serious students, sportsmen and hobbyists.

So let's imagine a conversation between yourselves and someone who doesn't see the "practicality" of owning a "sniper rifle." We'll call the anti-gunner "AG" in the script below and our fellow enthusiast the Long-Range Marksman or "LRM."

AG: Why do you own a "sniper rilfe?" You're not a sniper.

LRM: I own it because I like shooting at extreme distances.

AG: Why? That sound's boring.

LRM: I can assure you that it is not boring. It takes a lot of skill to hit a target at 600, 700, 800 or even 1000 yards.

AG: So what. Only professional snipers should be able to do that. The skill you have does nothing useful. It's not practical.

LRM: On the other hand, it is a very practical skill. I also like to hunt game at long distances.

AG: So you're too lazy to get close to the animal you kill. You've just admitted that you haven't got any stalking skills and would rather risk wounding an animal rather than humanely dispatching it with one shot.

LRM: I am very good at shooting long distances. I won't take a shot unless I'm 110% confident of hitting the target.

AG: You're attitude is scary. You sound like a "cocky" wannabe sniper. What if you hit an innocent person? What if you shoot an animal that is out of season? Changing a bad law is a good thing but you don't get into a fist fight with one hand tied behind your back. Throwing the bump stock owners under the bus is like getting into a fist fight with one hand.

So if we start using or making something that doesn't violate the law, they just change the law. Using a rubber band around the trigger doesn't violate the law (yet) but then is that going to invite trouble as well?

We (gun-owners) very existence invites trouble. It's not about banning firearms or firearm accessories. It's about controlling people. If you do not agree with your political masters then the fact that you are warm and breathing causes them grief.
