Re: So...what's ur occupation?

Hey, Devious, I see a spook collar brass in your logo. I was in a Reserve Intel group when I was in Lehigh U, back in the 60s. We met in a secure room in the basement of a University bldg, and we had to walk through the Mens room to unlock the room. Every so often, some guy would be standing there, and wind up pissing on his shoes, while he watched as seven guys in uniform marched thru, and unlocked 3 padlocks. 4 officers, and 3 enlisted, and the IG idiot came by, and asked us where we drilled as required 2x a year. We referred him to ACSI, and pointed out there wasn't enough for one squad to march. Duh...

XS - I'm originally from Easton and my dad taught at Lafayette. Small world!

I spent 13 years in FA; also trained as an arabic language regional specialist (FAO). I was the regimental FSO for 9th Infantry Regiment at Fort Ord, 7th ID when they noted I had degenerative arthritis in my right knee during a physical. Was facing an MMRB and medical discharge - convinced the doctor that if I branch transferred to a non-combat arms I wouldn't have to run.

2 weeks later, I pinned on MI brass, grabbed my ruck and headed off to the G2 shop. Spent the next 13 years in MI.

I was very fortunate to get selected to be a Division G2 and then to command the divisional MI battalion for 1ID in Germany in the mid-nineties (101st MI Bn). Came out of BN CMD in Bosnia in '97 and spent the rest of my career in the Pentagon with a 1 year break at National War College - retired at the end of 2003.

Some people still believe I "know" what really happened at Roswell, NM. Of course, I respond with this.

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

I'm one of the "all other duties as assigned" guys.

My biggest responsibilities are operational safety of personnel, our comm network, and making sure the Chief doesn't have a coronary.

Asst. Fire Chief

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

Last 30 winters, a full time professional ski patroller. Last 26 as a supervisor of some level or other. Those last 30 off-seasons I've owned 2 different restaurants (and gotten out), ops manager for a hotel, built spec houses, gunshow lackey, done survey work (mostly ski lifts) with a civil engineer, glass guy, property manager, lots of Internet sales. Whatever it takes.
