I think the moral of the story to his ilk is more like...if you are going to end things/going down anyway, make it productive. I wonder if this guy planned on being taken alive.

One of my college mates had the last name Head and he had a younger brother named Richard. And Richard asked that you call him Richard. I don't know of any teacher that even accidentally called him Dick Head.
No disrespect for Maj Richard "Dick" Bong, American Ace of Aces for WW2, but he would have had a heck of a time as a kid with today's parlance.
Almost had an Air Force base named after him, where they were going base the B-58 "Hustler."
