I have to agree. It does tend to be a crap shoot when it comes to what does and does not work, at least in my limited experience. I actually have a few boxes of that at home, but have not tried it. The CCI SV works a well as I need in my Savage MKII right now, so I am not messing with a good thing. We almost need a 22 ammo rating system, 1-10 or or something like that.
Words like "match" and "target" can be assigned to anything without regard for quality or standards.
This shit, for example, should be against the law.
So what is actually wrong with it? I haven't used it. I've used the federal auto match and it works. Didn't do accuracy tests or anything. We almost need a 22 ammo rating system, 1-10 or or something like that.

There is an ammo rating system already in place.
It's the price per round.
6 cents a round or less is bulk.
7 to 10 cents a round is for 25 yard pistol targets.
11 to 15 cents per round is practice ammo for 50 yards.
16 to 20 cents per round is practice ammo for 100 yards.
21 cents to 29 cents per round
is for competition if you don't care if you win.
30 cents per round up is for local benchrest matches.
Lot tested ammunition bought in case lots of 1250 bucks plus per case is true match ammo.
It's true. You don't have to like it, but it's true.
I was waiting for someone to do the math.
Lot tested is the important phrase in the price per case.
Often, CenterX at the Lapua test center
produces better results than Midas+ and XAct.
As I said, lot tested, 1250 per case, and you buy all of it.
That can be 60,000 rounds.
But that's what you do when you find "magic" ammunition.
Side note, retail CenterX is 22 cents per round.
But that is not lot tested, so there's no telling how it will do.
Use it when it doesn't matter if you win.
About 3 years ago I started a project for accumulating 22 LR data to see various speeds on various length barrels and to see how various available LR rounds performed. So, to date I've accumulated almost 550 lines of data on my spreadsheet (see pic) and I've decided to share it for the first time if anyone has any interest. To fit it on a PDF file that's manageable, I've not includes some of the details (e.g. individual shots). While I've been done with my little project for some time now, I continue to add data whenever I get hold of some LR ammo I've not ever used before.

If you get around to it and if you feel like it, Wolf Match Extra and SK Rifle Match would be great.
Thanks for this info.
Is the Lapua Club 40gr the same as the Lapua Center X 40gr?In preparation for our first local long range precision .22 LR match this month, I found that many of the first time shooters had/have no idea what their dope is or should be. After looking for easy ways to provide them information, especially those that do not have ballistic apps or are new enough that JBM looks like a stock ticker, I then searched for published drop information for existing .22 LR loads. It turns out that they are surprisingly sparse if they can be found at all. So I spent some (probably way too much) time putting these five charts together for the shooters of this upcoming match. Then I thought that it might be useful for some of you here too. I know that there are at least some of you that know all this and have no need, but I'm betting that there are more that are like I was just a little while ago that have mostly no idea where to start.
So, take a look at this pdf I made of a simple chart that includes 6 common lower cost, low velocity loads sometimes used for these matches. Know that:
I may consider making some more of these charts for your consumption IF: you find them useful, I am provided with some specific load requests, I have the ability to pull the data from my ballistic app and if I feel like it.
- I only provided these in 10 yard increments instead of the 5 yard increments that I prefer because it's a lot of data entry typing and I'm no fan
- Info is for CCI Standard Velocity, Aguila Match Rifle, Eley Club, Federal Match, Fiocchi Match and Lapua Club. All 40g lead round nose
- Info is simply outputs from my ballistic application using my inputs and includes only drops data in inches, mrads and MOA. No wind holds
- Accuracy of the charts seems to be spot on for my rifle at my location (near sea level). Your results may vary a bit, but these are a good starting point at the very least.
- These are based on a 50 yard zero.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Ran into a very interesting learning experience Saturday. It was 70 degrees and my come-up settings were not working at all. (We were shooting steel.) I had established them when it was in the 30 degree weather.
I had always known that temperature affected the velocity of ammo, but was not thinking of this Saturday and could not hit s**t at distances of 100 yards and greater as there was no berm behind the targets to see impacts of misses.
Went back to the range yesterday and using paper targets I found the POI's were 1-2 minutes higher, so now I have adjusted my come-up charts for cold and warm.
Even old dogs like me can learn to use past knowledge and correlate it to POI shifts.
Yeah, that’s about right, but who measures their come ups in inches over poi? It’s way easier to just measure in MOA/Mils.the way i read mine, i need to hold over 47" at 200yrds ???????
I used .132 bc for SK Standard Plus, Shooter app. My results are similar to yours. Real world data is off by a good bit.
100 yards 1.9 mils
200 yards 6.3 mils
Not sure how to adjust, tried muzzle velocity and it was a nogo.
