Another Butterbar in the making. Did you forget to get the passphrase and forget where we are supposed to go patrol? What are our left and right limits? Our ROEs? Or coordinate passing lines with the S3? What frequencies should we be on? What other units are in our AO? Did the S3 check with the other units? Or did you just get up and decide to wander around outside the wire?
The US Navy fucked up the basics.
it's not the first time they have fucked up and killed a shit ton of Americans. And it won't be the last.
My great uncles had a very bad day when the US Navy opened up on them on July 11, 1943. They made it to Sicily. A lot of their friends did not. The US Navy decimated the 82nd.

"At the time, the shoot-down over Gela was the worst friendly-fire incident in US history. Three hundred eighteen American soldiers were killed or wounded. Twenty-three transport planes failed to return; others limped back to Tunisia badly damaged, one riddled with 1,000 holes; many landed with blood all over their floorboards. Brigadier General Charles L. Keerans, Jr., the 82nd Airborne’s assistant commander, was aboard a plane that was lost at sea."
