@buffalowinter - any chance you ever came across any of these? Appears to be some interesting stuff! The Soviets used Mosin actions as well as Ross 1910's and others I dont recognize..

I had to laugh, coyote, as if you read through the interpreted description from a Russian they act like our round was all fucked up so they started over and came up with a superior round with the right bullet weight for that size cartridge.

I have a really neat little Eastern Bloc .22 Biathlon rifle. Neat gun. Very accurate. Looks like it was carved from a birch tree by beavers. But it sure shoots like a demon!

Soviets didn't do much right. But when they put their minds to things, they could work wonders.

Exactly right, AFAIK we've used their rocket engines quite a few times. I'm sure the threat of a gulag(or a 7.62x25 through the brain) definitely made for some efficient manufacturing practices
I wish we could see more of their bolt action commercial rifles here in the states.

Not to mention Ive longed for a VSS Vintorez and Vityaz for quite a while. Its nice to see some companies apparently working on producing some Vityaz-style carbines here stateside.
