So I've got a JRA 1903A4 on order, always wanted one and finally have the chance to grab one, should be here next week. Of course I'll have lots of questions of course so I figured I'll start a thread on all the questions I'll come up with.

First off... TM 9-1005-205-12

I noticed this manual for the 1903A4 is dated 1970. Why was this? Weren't the 1903A4 rifles fazed out long before this time?

Also, does anyone have a reprint of the TM 9-270 Manual? There is a place online that reprints and sells them but for some reason they can't ship them to Canada. Wondering if anyone had an extra copy they would be willing to get rid of you a Canuck up here in the north?

That 1970 manual was always interesting to me. I don’t know if they were updated for a foreign military or what, but the rifle was considered obsolete after the M1D sniper rifle officially replaced it after the Korean War. The FBI got some M1903A4s around that time. Anyhow, it’s a late date for sure.

This entity sells reprints, but doesn’t send to Canada. Maybe some thing could be worked out if you can’t otherwise get a copy of the 1943 manual.

I wish @kraigWY was still posting. I hope he is well and still with us.

I feel like he had some experience with these. I know he had alot of knowledge on the m1d's that the Alaskan national guard used for their sniper program back in the day.

Well digging through my junk drawers looking for something totally unrelated and came across a beat up old 4x scope. Figured I might as well toss it onto the M1903A4 until I get a replacement for the Hi-Lux that was destroyed. Decided I might as well do something a little artsy-fartsy with it in the front yard.
