Lots of people have asked for separate rings, but we have not had the time to make them before.
Here is a sample from first "zero" batch.

I am very greatfull to get in opinions about them.
Any options are very important so please let us hear.

The mount on the picture is 1" high and 30mm in diameter.
The rings are without any tilt and the length of the rings are 32mm/1,25" long.
Rear ring have two 5mm/.2" levels, so the ring can be mounted both for right and left hand shooters.
Plan is to start production now on 30 and 34mm, and at least to the beginning only in 1" height.

Two 5mm/.2" levels mounted in the rear ring to make left hand mounting possible. Model number always engraved in mount.

Trijicon RMR on direct footprint on the mount.
The screws attaching the mount to the rail is Torx.
All screws are stainless.

underside of mount showing integral recoillug machined in one piece with rest of the ring.
Number on the underside indicates when the mount is made and what batch.

What I would like to reicive opinions about.
Screws, allenhead screws doesent work on top rings as the small allen head screws will have the hole destroyed, therefor is torx screws a must.
Now we have also mmounted torx screws on the place where the mount attaches to the rail.
Good or bad? would others than Torx be preffered, if yes, why?

Other opinions?

For those of you that will visit shot show, please make a visit in TNVC booth at #6502 and see it for real.

Regards Håkan

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

It all looks cool.
BUT the fact that they are only 1" high makes it kind of hard for the operator to see the level

what good is it then!

If you make them 1.46" like the sniper mount it might work better.

I always check my level just before I send the long ones.

Masterdiver

They are mounted far to the left, for the right hand shooter cause he is then able to see the level with his left eye, and vice versa for the left hand shooter.
The main point by having separate rings is that the separate rings can be made lower than the complete mounts.
It actually also works the same way with the unimounts, you see the level with your left eye.
That one is also far out left so it's easy to see with your non sighting eye.

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

Master Diver, why do you want them 1,46" ?
Why not get the unimount then? that is 1,45" and does also have the advantage of the leveling solution that not the rings have.

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

Maybe you can make a .825 low mount for 30mm tube, by mounting the bubble levels above, instead of below, the scope.

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

Hakan,
The rings look great! What is the obj diameter on that Zeiss? I ask because if that is a 72mm obj and it clears a heavy barrel, the rings would be a bit too high for my personal preference. I can't remember what ring height I'm running now, but a 50mm obj clears my TRG by only about .100".

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

Hakan,
Curious if any additional development has been done for Tpals with 44mm objective? Either the one piece, or separate rings?

Looks Good so far

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

We will start with the 1" as I see it now. When and if there will be additional height, that will future show.
Likely there will, but I don't wanna promise anything.

Massoud
The scope is a 6-24x56 with a 30mm maintube.

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

No developments for Tpal yet.
The problem is that we have 20 mountmodels in production, how many of those should be made for Tpal?
So unless a substansial order, it seems unlikely.

And no, the level will not be mounted on the top, that is actually one of the main purposes with the mount that is should cover as little of the scope, view and knobs as possible.

Håkan,

I have the Unimount (sniper mount) 1.45" high

just looking into all options

I need extra high mount to clear the scope for a top mounted bi-pod syste, RND 202.

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

They look excellent. I really like the integral lug as well as the levels. When do you think they will be available?

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

Going hot.

We already make 13mils/44,4 Moa unimounts that is availible, if you want tilt tjat is à better solution than separate rings.

I would LOVE to have a set, need 35mm though. Some nice scopes in 35mm. I don't think it is going away. I understand that you make many different models. But 35mm would be nice. Might be a little tall also, but i think i could deal with that.

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

I really like them. I would just ask that they be slightly more affordable than the unimount. I wouldn't mind paying a couple hundred, but there would have to be some financial incentive for me to buy these over the unimount.

Overall, I really like the design, and the bubble levels seem like they'd work great. I really like what you've done with the ability to attach accessories to the mounts.

Re: Spuhr separate rings prototypes, opinions please.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive been waiting for these for months, ever since you told me about your prototype. Whenever they become available Ill be in for a set.
