How much could a target be angled to the side before it would affect group size. I’m thinking if the target is angled 10-20 degrees to the side and then measured without accounting for it then your groups would open your groups up.
Or a chronograph....FFS. Are we gonna have to buy another stock now?
Don't pay any attention to these yahoos.
Of course the angle is going to affect the group sizes.
This is nothing new and has been scientifically proven using the BBC formula.
BBC stands for Binary Ballistic Coefficient and the formula correlates the group size center to center deviations with the angle of impact so that the differences between where the bullet first impacts the target (the tip) and where it finishes penetration (the shank) are taken into account.
I'm on my phone right now, and have limited service, but if you Google these shooting related terms I think you'll find all the information you need.
It's often explained in graphic form, so doing an image search can get you there quickly.
Since shooting is something that Google and others consider to be dangerous you'll want to make sure safe search is turned off.

"BBC tip"
"BBC shank"
"BBC Penetration", also sometimes referred to as "BBC Double Penetration"
"BBC Splatter"
Turtlenecks, OP: yea, or nay?

BBC doesn't hold up at the distance most snipers operate at. Thats one reason I've chosen not to use it. I'm more concerned with meplat deformation, the tip is what really matters.
