I have three.

One 22lr, one 223 and one in 30 cal.

The 223 and 30 cal are both in the XL format and built out of titanium. I am extremely happy with there performance and build quality.

Even happier with the absolutely incredible customer service that left absolutely nothing to desire. Great advice and help in picking the products I needed, excellent comms throughout the process, and build deadlines were accurate, something not many suppressor manufacturers can claim.

what are you shooting the 30 cal unit on and what has been your experience there??

The 30 cal goes on both my .308 bolt and .308 auto as well as a 300 WinMag.

To my ear it is easily as quiet as any other .30 cal can I have experienced. It does an excellent job of keeping the gun stationary. Shooting subs out of it is silly quiet. Shooting rabbits at distance is guaranteed to about make you piss yourself laughing.

FRP is one thing I don't see a lot of discussion about with rifle cans - does it exist with other cans or is it not much of an issue?

If I were buying today I would take a very long look at an SRT TI can.

FWIW,

I own one in .223 and am pleased with the performance. (Typhoon with Atlas universal mount)
The Typhoon is a short can (5") that is designed for a very tough host. (5.56 NATO)
It is FA rated and is very rugged.

I was planning on getting a .30 cal SRT for my bolt gun but picked up a certificate for a TBAC 30P-1 at a competition before I got the chance to drop the hammer.
One of my team mates has an SRT Shadow that he bought off of my recomendations.
After hearing the Shadow & 30P-1 side by side, he went out and got a 30P-1.

I like Doug and his designs, but there are alot of new developments in the suppressor world over the past 18 months.
His designs are solid and his suppressors are built like a tank.

I'm running the O2 Hurricane XL Ti on my 223 and 22-250's, the O2 Shadow XL Ti on my 260 and AR-10s, and the O2 338 XL Ti on my 338 Norma, Doug is a great guy to deal with, and so far his patented AzTec (deep cone) baffle design has been one of the quietest i have heard, and all my SRT suppressors have very little to no POI change with/without the can.

Thanks for the quick replies so far.

I was specifically interested in the suppressor for initial use on my 308 auto first, and later a bolt 308.
How bad is the residue build up in the gun after use???
How repeatable is the POI shift for those of you using threaded mounts??
Have your groups gotten better/worse/same??

His integral suppressors are attached to the barrel with threads and locktite. This makes them all unregistered SBR's since they do not comply with permanently attaching a suppressor to a sub 16" barrel as defined by ATF. Last two I removed required locking the action in a bench vice and hand strength on the tube to unscrew it.

I had him build a camp45 integral and the finish was crap. And there was a dent/step down/recessed notch in the tube where he used a strap wrench to tighten it and torqued too hard. I no longer own it.

I've heard his muzzle cans and they are nice compared to some offerings, but are behind more modern offerings like Thunderbeast's or AWC's latest.

If you get him to do something custom like make an integral with extra baffles and he says he "would rather just do XX", but you both agree he will do what <span style="text-decoration: underline">you</span> want anyways, it will arrive with him having done XX instead.

He's a nice guy. Many people are happy with his products. He just won't be seeing anymore of our money.

I own one of his SRT Shadow XL's and it resides on a 300WSM. It does fine but I would probably not buy another one. THey are heavy and the SWR Omega 300, Tigershark, AAC 300SD, and QSM 30 are all much quieter.

I have two, a .338LM Ti, and a .22/.17 Comanche. Both kick butt and I would be happy to buy from him again. They are every bit the equal of my AWC and AAC suppressors. The Ti is lighter than my AWC, but it's steel, and it feels lighter (considering the size difference) than my AAC SPR/M4. YMMV, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Also, Doug has never done anything that I didn't ask him to do. Others' experience may be different, but everything I have asked him to do "custom", he has done. No problems, no bitching, and no discrepancies. He *may* advise against something, and he won't do anything he thinks is unsafe or unwise, but if you pay him to do something, my experience is he does it.

One of his suppressors in Silencer Research testing did ~36Db reduction on a 10.5" barrel 5.56 HK416. That was pretty impressive- being basically the best result Ive ever seen, and doing it without a tight bore.

The suppressors aren't welded, and [except for models with titanium components] aren't lightweight, but the performance is great.

I would think that a Ti model would be the way to go on a rifle designed for accuracy. Less weight to carry as well as less POI shift.

hit the nail on the head with this... I can remember the first time i shot his Shadow XL Ti, to my ears it was quieter than the cyclone, hvt, phantom, daw, kac, and for what i do, i prefer the quietest... I've been in touch with Ray "dog" and i'm really looking forward to compare the O2 XL Ti to the TBAC 30p-1.

I have 2 Shadow 30 cal. and like them. Very happy with them. I would go with the TI ones next time.

I have a YHM .30 Phantom and im waiting on my SRT shadow XL Ti, it's gonna be a few months though
