I think you guys are a little harsh on steelcomp. If you read his original post you will see he had it figured out from the start. I think he posted it to inform which is why I do a lot of reading on this site (and very little posting).

A lot of guys did a lot of arguing without knowing what they were talking about. The post from David S. clearly validated what was said all along.

Now to be fair guys like Lowlight, Jasonk, Jon A, Grump and maybe a couple of others are right in that all of this is not a big deal at all. It will not hinder your shooting.

I don't think that informative posts or reviews (if they are honest) are in bad taste at all. The stuff that looks unprofessional is the name calling and character bashing. It is not that hard for a person to take the most extreme posts with a grain of salt and move on.

I have had some bad luck with a couple of these scopes but SWFA (from my experiance) is a stand up company and can be trusted. They deserve our support. They are producing products that we want and I hope that they keep it up.

When I go researching a product it is nice to be able to find a lot of info both good and bad. A reasonable person can weed out the agenda driven garbage.

Any way, I like my scope a lot and the guys that I've shown it to have been impressed (even the Nightforce guys).

So steelcomp was banned? Ought I walk on eggshells from now on? I came to this place due to the group buy. I'm thankful to Frank for putting this one and to SWFA for meeting him on the other end. All Steelcomp and myself were trying to do is EDUCATE those who didn't seem to grasp what we both were trying (in vain) to explain was going on. Neither of us were bashing the scope nor SWFA.

I see things got personal for sure between a few. I kept yours truely as far away from being personal as I could, but even I was called a tool? Or was that meant for someone else? Regardless, I am glad to find this forum and I'm sure I'll have questions that only you guys can answer. But I'm new to this place. Steelcomp has been here awhile now. I ask on his behalf you consider chalking this one up to bullshit that got out of hand. But honestly, who amongst us would not puff our chest out, so to speak, when we feel we're placed on the defensive?

Either way, SteelC has more right to be here than I do. I ask you trade my membership for his. Or perhaps I will just get banned and swept beneath the rug for even asking. I just feel that his original intent was to inform and help swfa.

This really is a great place to learn. A place to come to for an honest answer. The cumulative experience between all of you really has opened up the door to persons such as myself. But if I don't see eye to eye with anyone, I'd hate to be banned for stating my mind as SC did. And in this case, I saw name-calling as a 2-way street. But only one has the power to oust the other.

As for this scope, I love mine. The indicators don't always line up. I can live with that. We get it. If you don't like it, keep it to yourself. Like if I had a new paint job with pinstriping that did not follow the contours of my vehicle's body, do not bite the hand that gave me 50% off the custom paint job. Well, most won't put up with that on a car, others dislike it on a scope and a very small handful will return theirs. Good for them. Then someone else can pick it up on the cheap on swfa's SAMPLE LIST. That, or as some have stated earlier, turn a profit here on this for sale forum.

Steelcomp was not Banned for anything in this thread...

He was banned for an extended back and forth with me, and I gave him a 1/2 dozen opportunities to log out.

he had issue with me, and my only issue with him, was not his assessment of the scope but his accusation that:

1. My scope was off in the video and I failed to acknowledge to provide Cover for SWFA

2.His refusal to come to this thread and publicly admit my scope was not off, after accusing me of this both publicly and privately to others.

He wanted to confront me via PM, and after repeatedly hearing his dislike and disrespect for me and how I run this site, I removed him. I did ask him to leave of his own accord, but instead he said that he was staying but would "pray for me" at which point I removed him. Pray for me, seriously...

I have no issue with his original post, I did have issue with the post he quickly deleted, but not anything else.

Well, I guess that's between you two. I don't know him peronally, but feel somehow at some fault for his banning.

One thing I do regret is this past weekend I was up in my normal shooting spot in the mountains and two gentlemen were there before I got there. They were talking among themselves and then finally asked, "Is that the new SWFA SS? We were wondering if you were a SH member." To which I replied that indeed it is and indeed I am. But hot damn, where the hell were my manners???? I completely neglected to ask if they wanted to have a look at it for themselves. I think I was just so excited to finally shoot with the glass after having it for two weeks but fire danger had our range shut down.

I AM a tool! LOL.

I have no issue with you and certainly you were not the cause of this...

He knew exactly what he was accusing me of, as well others did the same thing. They implied and then outright stated I had an interest in this scope so I purposely overlooked the issue in order to get the sales and provide cover for SWFA. Neither of these was true. He repeated this assertion again, and went on a campaign to tell people that in my video my "perfect scope" as he put it was off... When I posted the Still Image from the RAW video he stayed out of the thread, yet continued to attack me via PM.

Did I attack him personally, yes, But I did not say one thing about his findings in this thread, I offer anyone to find me knocking his assessment here ? I went after him to defend what I did in the video. Nothing more.

This was my issue, I confronted him, he choose to ignore it here, and continue to assert via PM so I banned him.

Wasn't it another member besides SC who started the first thread? Das C? And now he has. I think SC wanted to clarify for those who have the same issue, such as myself, so they don't start to bash on swfa. Sorry it all got personal. We're grown men with some Testosterone flowing through our bodies still. I know I've got my own pride issues and found myself losing sleep, not over the alignment marks, but that I kept failing to explain myself. That was due to me posting on my pda phone.

I think his head was in the right place when he posted this thread after the other got deleted. Then things got ugly. I don't run this board, I'm just a member. I just see myself in SC's shoes but I managed to swallow my pride while SC rose in my place. LOL. It is what it is. It's your board. I just wanted to try to get Steel back aboard. Your call, and it's been made. Just thought I'd try. With his post count, it seems he likes this place. Carry on.

By the way, my entire family enjoyed this scope this past weekend. First thing my lady said was, "WOW, it's soo clear." The scope made it easy for her to hit where she was aiming. Can't wait to get my learn on and eventually move up in yardage. But I can tell I've got a loooong road of practice ahead of me. Back to the fundamentals....

Contacting SWFA after posting on the Internet is not doing SWFA a favor. Contacting the company first so they can address the issue is helping the company. Then you can post about it along with their response which shows how a company stands behind their product.

Besides, I think he and others rather enjoy the "gotcha" moment, which is why he went around saying my video showed I was experiencing the same problem, which was wrong. They were trying to say that using a ultra low resolution YouTube video but the Raw shows a different story. When I produced this they disappeared and simply took their message to the back channels, it makes them feel good to have something over me, I get it.

As I said I gave him every opportunity to leave, he clearly has deep disrespect for me, so why should he have to suffer my company in my house. He can start his own site or simply follow the footsteps to the "lowlife hater's club" which I keep stocked with banned souls.

I'm more than just a little concerned about my membership here, because I haven't received proper warning that disagreeing with you could lead to a banned account. If you hadn't just threatened to ban me for absolutely no valid reason in our previous discussion on Saturday (where you personally attacked and insulted me and my profession) I might not even question things. But you did, and now I do, just like others are beginning to question. In my now deleted thread, someone pointed this out and poof the entire conversation vanished within minutes. We get it Lowlight; this is your bully pulpit.

Here's something I don't get: if there was a 'quickly deleted post' that said something distasteful and got him banned, why didn't everyone who gets an immediate email update because they've added this topic to their watched list receive a copy to our inbox? The system sends me an email almost the instant they click 'post', but somehow this one didn't arrive. Also a bit odd is that there's no item that says post was deleted by author, like we would normally see.

Finally, before you ban me for speaking out and delete this thread as well, consider this advice: you lead from the front. I'll pray that you learn what this means.

So what if he bans you? You came here for the discount, so you have gotten some benefit from being a member here, what has the site gotten from you except some BS teenageish whining? Being here is not a right, Its his site. If you go into any other business, disagree and try to make a public scene with the owner they have the right to have you removed. But thats not the issue here. The issue is that you guys are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill and when someone says get the f**k over it and stop whining, you take the "modern" recourse and accuse them of some sort of discrimination towards you because of some bias he has, in this case, supposedly because of he product. You are correct he did endlessly whine and complaint about SWFA in that thread too. Unfortunately some people are just never happy, he seems like one that would complain if you GAVE him something and then claim you had a motive for giving it to him. Good riddance!
