Alright, yes I am lucky enough to have one in hand, an actual production model not the prototypes that Jon and Frank were given. Less than a handful were air'd in from Japan for inspection as the others are on the way, one of these few was overnighted to me and I received it this morning. This long story short started several weeks ago when I was talking to Brady about the new scope, all the talk of no zero stop and other lame reasons not to buy one got me thinking. I'd like to shoot one of these new scopes in a competition, a big one at that. So on June 11th and 12th I plan on representing Team SWFA by shooting the SWFA SS 5-20 HD in the Oregon Snipers Challenge. Wish me luck.
First impressions are all very good, I have a limited time behind the scope but I have to say that the eye box, as Frank stated, is very nice. Is it Hensoldt nice....well not quite....but I can say for sure that I think it's better than the Bushnell HDMR and the Vortex Razor HD that I owned. Now I've been spoiled by shooting more than my fair share of Hensoldt's so it's not unusual for me to look through other scopes and be quickly unimpressed. That was not the case with this scope, without a doubt it's going to be a hit. I'll do a much more in depth review as I shoot it more over the next 3 days, but feel free to ask any questions you'd like. One interesting note is that the clicks are better than my Hensoldt!
I'm going to post the pictures on Facebook.com for the most part, you shouldn't have to be a member to see them so don't worry. If you are a member there please do me a favor and "Like" my page. It's a long story, but I'm trying to do more for the shooting sports, so I've got a new website and FB page in the works.
Again, please "Like" the page:
