I am pricing out a custom R700 in .300 mag. I am now down the the barrel and bolt.

This will be used for hunting and 1000 yard target shooting.

What are the pros and cons of each? The price is not much different. Should I get a SS action as well?

I am looking at the Krieger barrels right now. 24" 1:10.

I'm all for durability so stainless steel (then cerakoting it a desired color) would be my choice. In terns of accuracy, and don't quote me on this, but I have heard that both metal types are very accurate. However, when barrel life is running short, I've heard that chrome moly will begin to slowly lose accuracy and dwindle away while stainless steel tends to be more of an instantaneous death or accuracy for the barrel.
