I wasn't very thrilled with the job my vibratory tumbler was doing on my brass, but I didn't want to toss a couple hundred more into a full on Thumler's rig.
Thanks to 'suasponte' here pointing me to eBay, I found a dual chamber (2 x 3lb) Thumler for cheap. Add in a 2 lb SS media refresher kit, a couple of replacement parts for the beat up old tumbler, and some tinkering... Voila! For under $100 I have a SS tumbling set up.
1 lb of media and 25 .223 rounds in each container, and the usual water, Lemishine & detergent, in 30 - 40 minutes I have exceptionally clean brass.
Low volume, but it works for my needs, since I don't shoot many hundreds of rounds a week. Even with small batches of .308, I can easily get enough brass cleaned for a few hours at the range.
