Im wanting to test Retumbo in my .300WM but have not found much data.

I would like to try it with the 208gr. A-MAX, 225gr. Hornady BTHP.
I have good accuracy with H-1000 and RL-22 but would like to see what kind of velocity and accuracy I can get with Retumbo.

<span style="text-decoration: underline">The only Retumbo data I found was the Hodgdon Data:</span>
<span style="font-weight: bold">200gr. Nos. Part</span>.
Start - 79.0gr.
Max - 84.0gr.

<span style="font-weight: bold">220gr. Sie. RN</span>
Start - 76.0gr.
Max - 81.0gr.

What do you think about 79.0gr. as a starting point with A-MAX and 76.0gr. as a starting point for the 225gr. Horn. BTHP.
Would this be safe for a starting point?

Where would you stop at for a Max load for a first load test? I dont want to load too many rounds and then have to pull a bunch because of pressure indicators.

Barrel is a 26" Bartlein (#7/MTU Contour) 1-10 Twist.

With the 208AMAX I started at 80grs Retumbo, accuracy finally came together at 82.5grs(.375moa). No pressure signs.

Fairly compressed load(82.5)

Re: Starting Point-Retumbo .300WM 208gr. A-MAX/225gr.

I Moly coat my 208grn A-maxs and my load is 81.5 grains of Retumbo, C.O.L. 3.580. Out of the 26" 1/10 twist bbl on my XCR Tactical .300WM I get 3050fps. I think my load is 1.5 grains over max but with Moly it takes more powder to get velocity. No pressure signs and I went to 82 grains and had the same velocity as 81.5 grains. The moly coating is the key to velocity in this case. Retumbo is a good powder for .300WM IMO.
