Apparently the theives there really had no concept of what kind of scopes they were stealing.

I'm sad to see so many vendors had such a bad experience it was great to finally meet Tony and a number of other people.

I really enjoyed this show. I think it would be a really good idea for most of the Vendors to tether optics.

The Zeiss booth had all their optics tethered and I was still able to evaluate them the same as if they weren't tethered you could do anything with them.

Having the optics mounted to blue rifles is a great bet for keeping them in place.

I hope S&B gets their scope back.

Well, I dig up all photos taken during the show and I found the photo of scope in question. It's the one on the right.

Lots of scum bags there. I overheard at FNH and SigSauer booths that they got their pistol mags stolen.

To people who got free mags at the show...it's not worth it man.

Thats shitty all the gear stolen. Not to be naive, but hell, you'd expect better at a vendors show as big as SHOT. I fucking hate thieves

That's the model, but there were probably four or more at SHOT, one on each side of the squarish display. A serial number might be helpful for eventual identification, since "Prototype" scopes are around and this one may not be recovered for months or years, if ever.

I had my goodie bag stolen in '06 while at the US FireArms booth drooling all over the 6 shooters . I had 2 signed posters from Ronnie Barret , 2 signed Col. Cooper books . The scum took 3 bags total and we were less than 4 feet away , INSIDE the wire of the booth .

I wonder what else was stolen during SHOT ??

What a disgrace. I hope the C-S brings it out somewhere where we can see it.

The casinos have cameras and observation people that are so good they can tell if an old lady is trying to use canadian quarters, if someone has switched the dice, or if you have touched a blackjack card accidentally with your pinky.

This could be stopped once and for all, but it's just a question of how much money they want to spend.

Where did you see that it's in Orlando? I go there every year for the PRI trade show (for auto racing) and it's an awesome facility it would be great if SHOT came down here.

Coming in late on the third page but I wanted to note that some idiot stole a silencer and an Aimpoint T-1 off of a rifle at a booth downstairs this year. Funny part is that it was a FAKE display can. I am hoping the guy isn't wearing muffs first time he fires it. Or better, sells the can to someone who gives him what he deserves when it turns up fake. The problem I really noted with the industry vs. gun show situation is that there are now a ton of booths selling retail. If this is an industry show for letgit dealers to shop new gear and place orders for their businesses, then why is there a need to sell retail? No legit industry person needs to buy one sling or a gaudy turquoise necklace. And don't get me started on the carts. One guy was actually rolling a leaf cart around. The type with bicycle tires like you use in your yard to take leaves and debris to a burn pile. Who let that in?

The way some Moslem countries handle thieves got me thinking one day. Let's presume the items stolen is a Television..first time they cut off your hand, second time they cut off your foot. Stealing TV #3 would be sort of tough. Holding the TV in your one remaining hand, hopping down the street on your one remaining foot. When they catch you for TV theft #3, you loose your head.

There just isn't a theft #4...and it makes it obvious to spot repeat offenders, you know to watch the people with one hand, and really watch those missing one hand and one foot. Just waiting for them to be stupid (again). Some of the sharia law intrigues me.
