I'm looking to upgrade my Gen 1 PST 2.5-10 for my night rig. I have a CO-X HD clip on in front and was hoping for a little better light transmission and clarity from the day scope. I was pretty set on the SHV but I could pick up a Gen 2 PST for around $800.

Without having them side by side it is hard to tell. That having been said, the Gen 2 3-15x44 really punches above its weight class as far as image quality is concerned. From what I have seen it is at least as good as the SHV, but it is hard to be exact without having them side-by-side.

Thanks for the info. I’ll probably keep the Gen 1 for something else, it’s a decent scope. I’ve just learned over the last few coyote seasons that my clip on performance is held back by so so glass. I’ve got a new thermal coming for my primary rig, but I’d like to set this up better for a spare/loaner.
