I am torn between 2 scopes and its come down to the reticles. Does anyone have any experience with the strike eagle BDC on an 11.5" 223 SBR? Do the yardages match up to hits on targets out to 300 yards?

I know the shorter barrel is going to give me slower velocities than what the BDC was built around but does it make that big of a difference at 300 yards?

The other scope I am looking at is a Falcon S8I that has mil hash marks so I can just hold over.

No experience with an SBR...but unless your shooting subs I think it should be like minute of pig accurate. I've gone to 600 on the reticle with my 18 inch 5.56 I've been impressed with it honestly... I did NOT expect much from a BDC

I don't either. I think they would be better if they had mil or moa hash marks over a bdc. I know the scope manufacturers are trying to help the majority of shooters that don't know anything but it would be nice for something that just had the hash marks.

My 1-8 matches up well with a 40 grain load I made for predator hunting. If I remember right 200 yard zero and matches up 300,400,500,600 close enough. I would have to look again though. Pretty sure it was really close at least to 400. Rifle is a 14.5 inch Noveske
