I was crouched next to the rifle for the test- with no ear protection (I covered my ears for un-suppressed), and the sound with both suppressors was not just below 140, sound was ear comfortable. Like shooting a suppressed .22lr pistol. Reducing .338LM to ~130DB is very impressive.
If you look carefully in the video, it looks like recoil is pretty comparable between the brake, and both suppressors. If you want to split hairs it almost looks like AAC's product might have the most recoil by a slight margin. </div></div>
What was the POI shift with the Beast? How repeatable? </div></div>
We did not test POI shift. (the rounds were just going into the berm). The bore is centered with the threads and OD within .0005" however, and that is alignment is the controlling factor with regard to shift. POI shift should be minimal, and with a welded suppressor it will definitely be repeatable.
Other industry companies will spec that their suppressor bores are concentric within .010" and they feel that is acceptable, so we are well within at .0005"
