Suppressors Suppressors and the state law

First off please don't make this into a political thread and don't vomit on your keyboard.

So, I live in the Nevada where more and more California's gun law bleed into our state. Our wonderful Govn Steve Sisolak just signed a bill that put private sales of fire arms Illegal. This only bothers me because that's pretty much the only way I buy my OLD surplus Mauser rifles. I've only ever sold 1 of my guns.... ever. I'M A HOARDER!!!!

So besides that nonsense, lets talk about my ATF Class 3 suppressor that lives in jail. This is my first rifle muffler and probably my only because they take forever to get. Steve Sisolak said he wants to ban suppressors from Nevada along with more gun restrictions. Who knows when bill will be signed but since mine is sitting in jail, if a bill gets passed before I get it, will it be grandfathered in, will I get a refund for the full amount, or will i just be out of my $1000? This is stressing me out because I read all of the wait times people are posting and I'm just worried I'm going to be out of $1000.

FYI check was cashed on 10/07/2018... so I've got some time to sit on the toilet.

So what is the new law? That you have you go pay $10 at a licensed dealer to run a background check and you keep the returned document on file to complete the private sale? Just curious.

You don’t want a political response so I will hold my tounge on that but perhaps you should ask some questions of some of the states around you.. I.e if you move to a more friendly neighbor state would you be able to get your property that might become illegal were you currently live. It might be worth it even if you just “move” long enough to take possession then sell or bury..

No one knows. No one can even guess - it will all depend on the exact language of the new bill if it gets voted into law. And bills get changed all time, up to the very last minute.

The only thing you can do at this point to ensure you get to keep your suppressor is contact your reps and tell them you oppose any and all further gun control. If there are specific anti-gun bill(s) being proposed, it's even better to reference them - write/say "I oppose HB1234" in your message. Make yourself heard. Send in a handwritten letter every quarter. Send an email every month. Make a phone call every week. BE POLITE.

If you haven't been to Seattle in a while, it's a real eye opener. I have some business associates that were out from Atlanta & New Hampshire about 6 months ago. They both lean liberal. We visited some customers in Portland (Portland and Seattle are the same, can be used interchangeably).

While driving around, they were uncharacteristically quiet. Finally, one of them pipes up and says "what is all that" ? I honestly didn't realize what he was asking about and I said "what is what" ? They both looked at me like I was stupid and said "all those blue tarps, garbage and tents" ! I said "you guys don't have those where you live" ? They answered "No". I said, get used to the idea, those are homeless tent cities and they are coming to your town too, it's just a matter of time.

I founf it amusing that these two liberals were both shocked and disgusted at what they saw. Apparently, they had never personally seen the results of their left leaning politics. I swear I could hear them thinking "I don't want any of that near me, fucking up my property value".........

I am not holding breath that they wont be. It seems like every week a new anti-gun bill is on the table. I just submitted a F1 for an SBR. Figured I better do it now before it's too late.
