Rifle Scopes SWFA 5-20x Reticle Sharpness

Howdy folks, was wondering if those of you with this scope have a difficult time getting the reticle sharp past 15x.

Optically, mine is beautiful. I love everything about this scope.

Only strange thing for me is, I can't seem to get the reticle RAZOR sharp. My other scopes all have tack sharp reticles at any magnification, but my SWFA 5-20 doesn't.

If i sit PERFECTLY behind it, it's almost perfectly sharp, but if i move at all, i'm talking a tiny movement in any direction, the reticle gets fuzzy.

Wouldn't bother me so much, except i get a bad headache every time i spend any time behind it.

Anyone else experience this?

I've spent a lot of time trying to focus and have the ocular screwed in as far as it will go and feel like i need more. Going the other direction only makes it blurry.

My SS 5-20 is perfect. But I do experience what you are with my Bushnell 3-12x44 FFP. If I am perfectly in line it is crisp. If I move my head at all the reticle gets fuzzy and "blinks" or almost disappears. Its pretty annoying but I've learned to live with it and I got the scope for free so I guess I can't complain.

When I ordered my SS I was so paranoid it would do the same thing but it doesn't. FYI I do have an astigmatism and I always figured that had something to do with the problems of the bushnell. Just a thought.

I have the same exact issue on my 5-20 ss. Was thinking about sending it in, but I want to wait and see if this is just normal or what. If I spend much time (30sec) behind it above 15x it almost makes me sick to my stomach and is just really hard on my eyes.

HK Dave - I had this problem as well. Like you, the intial symptom that I had was the reticle being blurry at 20x magnification. The sight picture was beautiful, but the reticle looked fuzzy.. I ended up adjusting my vertical cheek position a bit (for me it was to lower the adjustable cheek piece slightly) and the reticle became nice a crisp.

How far do you guys have your ocular screwed in? I've got mine all the way in and it still doesn't seem to be sharp enough. If I unscrew it at all, it gets more blurry.

Spent about 30-45 mins looking through mine today and not only do I have a headache, I'm nauseous too. haha

For the record, I have 20/15 vision, not completely sure if this relates to the ocular focus in any way but my guess is that it has something to do with it.
