I guess not too many have it!

Is this like the hottest item of 2011 for scopes? These ss hd threads are all over! Lol

I pulled it a little on the upper left of the box test, but I'm 100% sure that was me, not the scope. POA was the lower right on all 4 shots. Unfortunately, It's not uncommon for me to pull 1 of every 5.

Sweet! I am waiting for this scope to put on my 700 LTR. It looks like you are using the Badger MAX-50 rings??? I ordered the MAX-50's for my scope but am wondering about what size to get- if I should switch it. How high are your rings shown?

Thanks!

After checking the video, the knobs work like my Bushnell FFP, and I don't think any kind of shim under the knob zero stop will work.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

Really you shouldn't both with, "home made zero stops"... you have horizontal reference marks, which on a 20MOA based lined up to 1 at zero, and you have 10 Mils per revolution... if you can't remember to glance up at see "1" you need a new hobby. The 2nd Revolution shows a "2" -- pretty darn simple.

Most of the higher end manufacturers now incorporate some kind of mechanical zero stop, so I guess I'm not the only one who finds them to have utility. To each his own.

I never said it didn't have utility and I clearly said so if you bothered to read what I wrote in my reviews, or even easier, watched the videos.

However I said in this context, for most shooters it would be foolish to try and invent a home remedy for this.

I like zero stops too, but I am not 100% dependent on them.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

Got one ordered but been out of the loop on tracking shipping status. Did SWFA have enough scopes to cover this buy? Got a notice soon after I ordered a month ago that it is on back order. Did everyone that ordered get that message initially?? regards, Dale

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

to those who have these in-hand, how tight is the battery cover with the ss eagle on it when it's facing right side up? i noticed pics of past that the user had the eagle facing upside-down. for those with it right side up, does the cap "bottom out" in the up position, or is there room to get it just tight enough with wiggle room? i know depending on how your start to thread the cap on will dictate where it comes to rest.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

The cap rotates when you illuminate the reticle. Since there is numerous reticle settings the cap could be perfectly tight in any position.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

i can be forgiving. either way, do you drive with your bmw logo canted 45 degrees? beauty is in the eye of the beholder. regardless, i will love my ss 5-20. as i've mentioned already, my first real and worthy piece of glass. can't wait to post up a pic of mine on the badger 22moa rail with aadland rings.

Zero Stop is nice to have, but is not a necessity, especially considering the price of this scope.

The scope is pretty easy to use as is.

No zero stop, no sunshade, sheesh!

Every other click is off. That way you can set it to the illumination you want and then one click in either direction would be off.

Indeed, that is awesome. I am used to linear power settings, so this will be a welcome change for me.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

My 1st one just arrived. The knobs feel fantastic. Best of any SS scope yet. Glass looks very nice, and I like the reticle a lot.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

I just recently called SWFA to change the rings I ordered and they said that the scopes are not in yet??? Maybe they are just telling people this so people don't get over anxious crazy like I am right now. My wife can vouch that our house will be a happier place once I get my scope. I feel like an over anxious little girl a couple days before Christmas

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

I got a surprise delivery yesterday of said scope. Guess I'm just livin' right! I'd say it was a Southern thing but ILya got one out on the left coast before most of us. That was just an Optics thing!

Maybe ILya is a closet redneck! ROFL!

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

The EAGLE!!!! not being straight really bothers me too, my OCD is bad in regards to things like that. Brady always jacks with me by making all the pictures hanging on the walls just slightly crooked.

I knew I should have never let y'all know that calling it a chicken pisses me off because by doing so that's all I'm gonna hear for now on.

Does he really look like a chicken?

Not really, but he doesn't really look like an Eagle either.

He reminds me a lot of Foghorn Leghorn with a black eye. But he don't really look like a chicken either.

I think it's a fine looking logo, personally.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

I like the logo personally. I was just screwing around and chicken jokes are funnier than eagle jokes. For instance, you never hear of anyone choking the eagle... just saying

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

Picked mine up today from SWFA along with some rings. Here are some picks while we are staying in Austin.

Taken at 20x via an iPhone 3g. Not pad. Great scope so far. I should get it mounted this weekend and give it a test run on its new home Sunday.
