Let the Kurds fight their own battles. We armed them, now let them stand or fall on their own.
To some extent I agree but whether they be in North Iraq, Iraqui Marsh Kurds, Syria we have a nasty habit of fucking them.

I think every troop deployed should be redeployed to either the northern or southern border with a hot line to Border Patrol and 6 month flip flop rotations so they can learn forest or desert camo depending on where they are.

I'm assuming Syria is going to be a bit upset at yet another foreign power waltzing in and invading, but not that upset that they are going to take care of dealing with those pesky independence loving Kurds. Then after the Turks do some of their typical genocide there will be a "negotiation" for them to withdraw and all will go back to usual.
I'm guessing it had been long enough since the last time we backstabbed the Kurds after getting them to help us, that the fighting generation thought somehow this time would be different & we wouldn't just use them as fodder & then abandon them to get slaughtered when we were done...
