Anybody have a T/C Compass rifle? Could you share the spacing dimension from the front to rear action bolt hole?
I have some T/C Dimension switch barrel rifles and hate the stock on it. Nobody makes an aftermarket wood stock, but I’m pretty handy, so I’m curious if one for a Compass would be a good starting point if the holes like up, or if I’d be better with an uncut wood blank and starting from scratch.

Looking at Google images for both actions, it looks like the dimension’s recoil lug is almost 4X as wide as what’s on the compass, and the dimension has the front action screw sitting right in the middle of that thick lug. With the lug integral to the stock, that means you’re probably looking at some real fun work involving a lot of release agent, epoxy, some machine work for the lug, and trial and error to make your own inlet. That combined with needing access to that barrel nut will make for some real interesting wood work. You might call Boyd’s and see if they could do a one off or if they have any interest in using your rifle for developing an inlet for these. As ugly as that stock is I’d imagine there would be a market for a good stock. As cool as the concept for those rifles was, TC really dropped the ball with that stock, it looks like a Savage Axis that got left too close to a campfire.

Thanks. It may be a fools errand.... I’ll make an inquiry to Boyd’s and see what I get. I do have some take-offs laying around that I could sacrifice one to try and play with. I dunno.
The rifles and the concept are nice, especially for the price I paid when CDNN was blowing them out.

TC makes good stuff and that was an awesome concept, I’d bet if you could make a more traditional stock there might be some interest, if you have the time and capability, why not give it a go?
