Tactical Pens — which is best?

Anyone know what the best tactical pens are? I know of Benchmade and Surefire...and owned an UZI Defender with the DNA catcher (cut myself a couple of times reaching in my pocket because the flimsy gummy cap fell out).

Anyway, just looking to see opinions. Thanks in advance.

This is a very nice product. I have purchased a few of them. Everyone wants the one I have once they see them.

Re: Tactical Pens — which is best?

Anybody ever heard of a "PENCIL"?

I realize they aren't "taci-cool" but they work, even upside down and when the paper is wet.

Big +1. I own 2 of them, and everyone always asks me about them.

Re: Tactical Pens — which is best?

Thanks for the props, but i think the OP was referring to defensive tools, like 'pen' knives and ventilator type stuff.

...yall prolly knew that tho....

Re: Tactical Pens — which is best?

I don't understand all this tactical pen stuff. SureFire makes aluminum pens. Can you defend yourself with them in a bind yes. Would I reach for my pen instead of my pistol hell and no. You live in NV I would just get a CCW and be done with it.

The big thing I hear about is guys wanting to carry a tactical pen on a plane to defend themselves. My 2 cents is my 6lb computer in my laptop bag when I am swinging it like Thor's hammer is going to do a hell of a lot more damage then my pen. And you know what when my laptop is broken in a million pieces in my laptop bag it is still going to weigh 6lbs.

Now that I am off my rant the SureFire pens are all nice but the pen 3 is my favorite. It writes extremely well because all of our pens ship with Schmidtt Easy Flow 9000 ink cartridges but it also fits nicely in the hand.

When I first saw this title, I thought Forty-One changed his name and was back. Alas, no.

Skilcraft pens are Mil-spec. Maybe an S4 guy can help you out on the NSN.

Re: Tactical Pens — which is best?

We are issued pens that will write at -40 degrees (that's celsius OR Fahrenheit...)

And if that pen comes out, I guarantee you that I'm not writin' you a warning.

Cheers,

Sirhr

(And if I am wearing the plastic rain deflector condom on my campaign hat when I get out of my cruiser... you aren't getting a warning, either.)

LMAO bacause it was spitting snow this morning on my way to work and one of the DPS guys I know had a stop and I thought to myself, that clown is definitely getting a ticket!

Re: Tactical Pens — which is best?

when I read this thread @ first, I thought really! WTF has become of snipershide? But instead I'll be nice and offer my patent pending product. We're still doing some testing on the pens, we don't want you running out of ink while trying to get some hoez #. Cool thing about my design is that it can swapped to other rifles in minutes. @ the moment I'm running a thumb screw but, I'm also trying to work out a deal with Larue Tactical to design me a QD mount.

Re: Tactical Pens — which is best?

Lazy, they have those pen flare mounts, might be a quick retrofit, and this way if a buddy was in an emergency where their pen went down you can lob one in.

I enjoyed when I read this years ago regarding NASA back in the 50's. They spent nearly a million dollars in todays money to solve the pen in space issue. To design a durable pressurized ink cartridge to handle the temperatures, zero gravity and gforces. The russians sent up a pencil. Thinking outside the box is great. Recognizing your not in a box to begin with is pricless.

Re: Tactical Pens — which is best?

TBH I use benchmades pens, durable and easy ink. for all those saying pencil and such, you ever try to write coordinates while taking mortars? plus a pencil breaks there is no "oh wait while I take out my knife and sharpen this thing. will 80% of the SH folk need a pen for that.. probably not, but maybe he is mil and needs a pen for artillary or such.

Also for those wondering about snipercj pen, look at his links in his comments might give you a hint.

Re: Tactical Pens — which is best?

besides a carpenters pencil i carry a a few sharpies including a fine point for my data books. They write on anything including foreheads..Dont try to justify to some of us spending a shit load of money for a fucking "tacticool" pen. If you want to buy an overpriced pen then knock yourself out but I got better things to spend my money on.

I bought one of these... when like 3 years ago? At least. Cool as hell, but not near as cool as Watching Susan pull up on that Hog while we were sipping coffee - seriously. Hottie biker chick giving him a big hug and I was thinking it was his daughter at first.
