So much product with wireless tech is implemented with "security via obfuscation", AKA "no one knows I'm here so no one will try to hack me". Works fine until someone begins sniffing around, and the Flipper makes that easier than ever. Hackers gonna hack.

I think it's bullshit the government is preventing the importation of this device.

It's NOT a hacking device, because you have to have the RFID/codes/code beforehand. All it does is copy, write, and mimic, but it doesn't hack or create. If it created the codes and actually hacked RF receivers that would be an entirely different matter (and I would want one).

This one is just a gadget, not a hacking device. A phone does the same thing, you just have to go through apple to make it work, and it doesn't work independently. How do you think your apple ID is linked to your credit card? I can scan my phone against the reader without the actual card in my wallet. This does the same thing but cuts out the protections of apple and leaves all the decisions to the user. Could it be misused? ANYTHING can be misused.
