Definitely changed in 20. Beginning about 2010, the big oil boom seriously altered that entire area and I was there every step of the way.

One thing I figured out in the decades of working oil is that, if there is oil or gas, it is a shit hole. Yes, even Alaska. The oil there is in areas that suck big Caribou balls.
Places like Belize seem to not have hydrocarbons worth going for.
