Hey guys this is my first post here. I have done alot of looking and reading on this site and found some wonderful info..great site.
Here's what I'm looking at..
-I have ordered a Howa m1500 heavy barreled action, 24" stainless, .308, 1-10" twist.
-I'm thinking of going with a B&C tactical medalists A2 style stock w/ the full length aluminum bedding.
-for the scope, after lots of reading of opinions from those of you on this site i believe i have decided on the vortex viper hs 4-16x50 30mm tube.
I'm not sure what base and rings I'm going to go with just yet need some opinions on this!
-this set up will mostly be used on targets out to 600yds maybe farther as i progress with this rifle and set up. and it will be used for deer hunting (very little as most of my hunting is done with archery equip.)
-I do reload and will be developing loads for this rifle when i have it complete.
-i do have a shooting background, most target shooting is done with a .223 so far, out to 500yds. I am still new to precision shooting at distance and i'm learning more everyday.
-i have put this together to try and develop a decent long range/hunting set up that will not break the bank.
I think i have covered my bases if you think of anthing else let me know.
Tell me what you think of the stock, scope and give me some opinions on rings and bases..
Thanks in advance,
