Trying to find an action! If anyone knows where one is let me know!

Mine will be as follows (hoping to have it done by the of the month):
    Tempest (Nitrided)
    Bix'n Andy Comp
    J Allen Enterprises (custom colors)
    Atlas PSR
Proof Stainless for now, will chamber a couple barrels for it.
MPA 1 piece mount and self timing 6.5 premium brake
    Vortex G2 Razor 4.5-27

Definitely a good one. I'm interested to see how the Bix N Andy Trigger feels with it but currently they're priced high. I thought i had read they were going to be 250$ or so. Probably pickup a Huber after a while if the price for the B&A stays that high.

BIx'n Andy just realased a 235$ single stage and 250$ 2 stage. They ship April 1st, i believe. I currently have the Bix'n Andy Comp trigger (399$) and it feels quite a bit better than a Jewell which is what I am used to. I do not like the feel of a Timney trigger breaking. I much prefer the Jewell's almost "mushy" break which the Bix is similar to, but noticeably smoother.
I will be running it in my Tempest and JAE whenever they get here.

Let me know what hanger you are using. Tried all the hangers (no markings, 10, 20, 30) with my B&A and none worked.

Took her out to K&M this past weekend. Other than a couple of my reloads being tight, it ran like a machine. I couldn't see myself ever going back to any other action, at least not for a competition setting. I botched the hell out of two stages but stages that required speed like the 300yd mover i went 7/10 on. Placed 53rd, nothing to write home about, but better than my first outing. Also was sick as hell and running fever, which i'm paying for now after being out in the cold for 10 hours.

A little off topic, but which range at K&M is that? Looks pretty new. Is there any steel on it yet?

This thread is not helping me not want one of these any less.... Great looking rifles here.

Get one man you wont regret it. Like i said i don't see myself going back to another action for competition. Actually thinking of a trying to make either a tempest 223 trainer if i can or a tikka t3 varmint with a swept back bolt handle so it would be nearly identical to the tempest.

Well I just sold my 260 so I am now in the market for a 6.5. . . . hmmmmmmmm

A few that I built last year. One for me and the rest for customers

Ran mine today again in another 1 day match. I think i go to fast with it. Lol i just love cycling the the thing because i can do so much more quickly than a 90 degree. Had to calm down after putting up a 3 and 4 on the first couple of stages.

I'll also say definitively hanger 30 for the Timney CE 2-Stage. 500rds now with no misfires or light strikes. I've technically had one but it was because i bumped some shoulders back entirely too much.

I couldn't find them on the site, was just looking. But i assume they will. I'll link you to the thread that someone told me that.

I picked up 2 Bix N Andy GAP tempest hangers. Currently they are out of stock. Have teh BnA Marksman - will install once i get the hangers.

I love the trigger this far. I've had it in a buddies rifle and have a couple hundred rounds on it. Smoother than a Jewell, but hard to tell if you run your triggers less than a pound.

Found an action- should be at my FFL today. Hopefully going to go down and spin a barrel on it this weekend or sometime next week. JAE should be shipping Monday or Tuesday so I should have my Tempest up and running by the end of next week! I will need to get load development done, get about 100-150 rounds on it before the next weekend for a match and then a PRS match the weekend after that.
It will have a Bix'n Andy in it with Jewell as the back up. What hanger are you guys running for Jewell triggers?

JAE, Tempest, Bix/n Andy, MPA 1 piece mount, Premier 5-25, Atlas PSR, Area 419 Hellfire... Doesn't get much better than that! I am beyond excited to finish this thing.

Nice, can't wait to see pics.

So the B&A's second stage is a crisp wall with little to no take up? Unlike the Timney's?

I'm using the single stage "Competition" trigger. I've got it set right at a pound. I do not like 2 stage triggers. That said, the Bix'n Andy trigger breaks more like a Jewell than a Timney (feel wise).

So i got the BulletCentral GATempest Hanger and I installed the trigger. The best explanation is OMG!!!! I have the BnA Marksman trigger ($495, 2 stage, fully adjustable). Set the 1st stage for 1 lb and the 2st for 1lb. There is no perceivable movement on the second stage - its amazing. I shoot Hubers ... Now the bad news - my temest is in a Manners stock with BO DBM bottom metal - you will need to get your dremel out as the trigger mech is a few thousands too thick to slide the trigger mech through the trigger gap - just ever so slightly too think - will need to shave it down.

Correction, its the trigger shoe that makes contact with the Bottom Metal at the front, if you reduce the 1st stage travel to barely min it will fit unmodified. Or alternatively mill out a few thousands at the front of the trigger guard. Likely this is unique to the Marskman trigger only as the trigger shoe and adj screws are way forward. I have the BnA tacsport on back order and that would work and any single stage would work. But if you have a marksmans you will need to shorten that 1st stage travel to barely any movement if you dont want to mill the bottom metal a little. But again - this trigger rocks and the firing pin extrusion is maxed out.

Off to throw a barrel on the Tempest tomorrow morning. JAE is done and will be here Friday afternoon! Just gotta seat bullets for load dev. Shooting Saturady morning. Getting pretty darn excited!
I am shooting a match next weekend and the following weekend a PRS match, so I've got very little time to get load dev done, rounds on the better to get to a steady speed and acquire solid dope. Gotta get all that done either Saturday/Sunday or knock some of it out next.

Threw together the barreled action on Thursday. Picked up the stock Friday morning and assembled everything. I've got 180 rounds on the barrel now. Here are a couple pictures.

Loaded up some groups with the 130gr hybrids and IMR 4166 from 36-37gr in 1/2gr increments. Thus far much more consistent than the Normas. I'm going to see if i can manage to push further as i haven't come across pressure signs yet and other than my fault with fliers 36 and 37 look pretty decent. I think i can tighten up 37gr. I hope i can get 2900fps this time around.

I ordered my action from GAP back in July 2016, and received it in March. 8-10 months seems to be the standard.

I'm having issues chambering about 2/10 rounds. The bolt gets stuck about 3/4" from final stop. If i back pressure off just a little bit, i'm able to slide it forward the final distance, and close the bolt. I'm not seeing any marks on the cartridge itself, so i cant tell if its nose-diving or getting caught on the neck or shoulder. I'm going to try to get a video of it this weekend.

Have you called GAP? Also what do you mean stuck 3/4ths from the final stop? Like you can almost fully chamber a round or are having issues closing the bolt/camming it over the round once in the chamber?

the bolt comes to a stop about 3/4" away from final chamber, before begin able to cam the bold down. I have not called GAP yet...still trying to see if i can diagnose anything noticable
