I have a 12 1/2” AR in the safe, used to shoot some Three Gun with this and my main 20” Colt. Both iron sighted.
Thinking about a TR 24. and training up somewhat with this.
I have never had a “red dot sight”. This one seems short range versatile. Handy.
a good pick?

It’s a great LPVO even though it lacks some of the features other have. I am a LPVO junkie and own, have owned or shot pretty much every 1-x on the market. There is something still about the TR24, mine being a green triangle, that keeps it as one of my favorites. It’s simple, big bright triangle and one of the most true 1x most red dot like LPVOs on the market. It doesn’t have a BDC but I zero at the top of the triangle, cover with the triangle at 200 and base of the triangle for 300 with my AR. Only real legit con is it can get washed out if you are in a dark spot, say a garage or something looking out to a bright area, then the triangle is dark. It’s also lightweight, doesn’t need batteries and great glass for the money.

Do it . They're unique , reliable and fast. Even without the collector exposed. It belongs in the SHTF Optic Hall of Fame :)

I have both the trijicon 1-6 and 1-4 and the 1-4 is lighter and has better exit pupil. I really don’t miss the extra power but appreciate the field of view and ease of eyebox.

also when the illumination isn’t strong enough to brighten the triangle turns dark or black. Easy to see and pick up still due to the bold post. Seriously great optic. I’ve also tried different reticles and the triangle is the way to go by far.
