I've put a thin film of it on the GB journal of a couple barrels that had a loose GB fit. It worked. Kind of regretted it when I had to remove them.Where are you putting the loctite, just on the barrel?
For ARs i've got a few carbon fiber proof barrels and the one on my prairie dog gun was probably the only one that was worth the extra month tbh. I put 500+ rounds of 224 valk though it in about 4 hours and it maintained good accuracy. For other ARs unless you want it for looks it's probably not worth the money. Thanks for the info.
Is there anyone that could shed some light on this or should I create a new thread for this question?

How are you aligning the gas port up? Wing and a prayer or do you use some kind of jig?
Eyeball mostly. Hasn't steered me wrong yet.How are you aligning the gas port up? Wing and a prayer or do you use some kind of jig?
Just be careful. You start with building 1, then its 2, then 3. Next thing you know you got one for every day of the month and your bank account is pissedFinished first AR 'build' this weekend, my a BCM upper was delivered and I finished the lower today.
Is that rail free floated? If so what is the length of the rail?
Dang. So that's what being patient could net me? I might try it some time. This is my two year Black Friday build and I’m under 1000 on the rifle.

Read that article the other day. I usually roll my eyes hard at these articles because the builder rarely has any 3 gun experience and builds an abomination. Yours was just the opposite.Full build sheet at the link. I did this as a builder story for GA

The Ultimate 3 Gun Rifle - Part 4
I set out to build the Ultimate 3 Gun Rifle, and I did. But I also accidentally built a rifle capable of PRS competition and hitting targets past 1000 yards.www.gunsamerica.com

That means a lot, thank you!Read that article the other day. I usually roll my eyes hard at these articles because the builder rarely has any 3 gun experience and builds an abomination. Yours was just the opposite.
Uh, no, it won't. I mean, if you never use it I guess...You don't need a dimple. It's nice and simplifies assembly, but carbon buildup or a little blue loctite will keep a gas block on a non dimpled barrel indefinitely.
Which hipster were you in the Benro catalog? Didn't see your rifle on that site... They need a pic of you doing parkour with one at the Boaz Factory Outlet!Full Factory 300BLK Noveske 10.5” Upper mated to a factory Noveske N4 lower (separated from a new, unfired 13.7” pinned Noveske Infidel factory rifle). I did a Form-1 SBR on the lower last year, so yes, it’s a legit SBR.
Not a big fan of Rail Panels, but they came with the upper (received today) and the installed brake was an ASR, which just happens to be one of the many mounts I have for my F1 suppressors.
Not exactly sure how I’ll finish this one off, but I had a spare ACOG ECOS kicking around and a spare brand new PEQ-15 still in sealed pouch, so I figured it would do for now until my BOSS-XE arrives.
Gonna eventually be my go-to HD and Yote gun.

So what terrible calamity will befall me? I'm looking at 4 now smoothbore, dimple-less barrels that sacrificed their lives while successfully retaining their gas blocks. On two of them, I had hoped to re use the gas blocks but they required so much heat and hammering to remove them that they had to be scrapped. I guess if you have a front sight tower gas block that you use to drive stakes I can definitely see the need for pinning. If the GB is under a handguard and carbon welds itself on I don't get it.Uh, no, it won't. I mean, if you never use it I guess...
I'll go so far as to say if it's not pinned then it's half assed too unless it's a range toy or a competition rifle where reliable operation isn't vital.
How do you like the Steiner and arisaka/holson setup? contemplating the Steiner with an offset in my next build but havent seen anyone else with that combo to get feedback from.Small and large mini Recce. I have a “medium” that is on order with a 13.7” barrel.
large is a BCM Recce 14 (14.5” p&w) with a CD Rein Micro, Badger 1.93” Condition 1 holding a Nightforce NX8 and offset DPP.
small is a DSG Arms/Seekins 10.5” with Silencerco Omega, MI QD scope mount holding a Steiner P4Xi, Arisaka 35 offset mount and Holosun 507C X2, Poverty pony lower with some Magpul stuff and a Geissele trigger.

Shortly after, DPMS super bull 5.56.
I’m really liking how this gun shoots. Hate the stock though. Wish those PRS Lites would come out.
