And before you ask.. I dunno. More testing needed. ;)

Here are a matched pair of AR' 5.56 pistols built from the ground up to be ACCURATE. Bartlein 11.5" 1x7 SS barrels with +1 gas system by Craddock Precision; V Seven billet receiver sets with matching forends; SLR adjustable gas block; Surefire WarComp; JP Full Mass Operating System (FMOS) bolt carrier group; Geissele ACH charging handle; Vltor A5 recoil system; TriggerTech Adaptable trigger adjustable down to 2.5 LB; just about every small part V Seven makes in titanium, with the exception of the Fortis K1 receiver end plate and castle nut. A three letter .gov agency you've heard of is currently evaluating these barrels for use in a counter sniper role.

Oh, awesome! How do you like the higher mounting? I get the whole natural head position concept. I've been wondering whether I'd rather have that, or a lower profile package overall...
The magnifier is a little tricky very little eye box , lower chin mount on the brace around teeth level. Eotech alone is fine but its nice not to have the magnifier hanging over the side since the magnifier will get limited use in the house. Outside the house naturally switch to the 7.62 although the eotech donut of death is very nice with the magnifier.

Right on, man.

I use a magnifier at work (lower 1/3). Works well, but I have never used anything with the Unity height (I don't really have a problem sinking down a little lower for the 1/3, but it could be one of those things where I don't know what I'm missing).

The eye box is one of the reasons I haven't switched to LPVO (I like the option of infinite eye relief).

Recently completed 6mmARC with 14.5" Proof CFW barrel - I look forward to chrono'ing this barrel length. SanTan STT-15 billet receiver set; Geissele MK14 rail; SLR adjustable gas block; TriggerTech Competitive trigger; Vltor A5 recoil system; JP FMOS 6.5G bolt carrier group; OSS/HUXWRX brake - pinned and welded; DHD small parts; Fortis K1 receiver end plate and castle nut; Kahles K16i in Spuhr SP-3022 (1.5" high) mount; unnaturally ugly 20-RD Duramag (but they work!).

Really cool to see Proof putting an intermediate gas system on a 14.5" barrel.

I feel like a poor posting my pleb build in here, but I'm also kinda dumb, so I'm gonna do it anyway. I've since switched to Magpul .300BLK mags also.

PSA 8.5" .300BLK upper (ran everything I've fed it, supers, subs, can or not)
Sig Romeo 5
Daniel Defense fixed front with blitzkrieg tritium post, rear BUIS from my SIG
Streamlight RM1 with cloud LCS
BCM KAG handstop
Aero X15 lower
Larue MBT trigger
Magpul K2+ grip
SBA 3 brace
Silencerco ASR mount
Can

Just got the NF ATACR, put the Aimpoint on the LWRC. Realized after sighting the F1 in that I need the slightly longer stock, so that’s on order.

First kill with the custom .300 BLK with the Dead Air Sandman-S and my newly revamped 220 subsonic handloads.

1 shot, 1 kill… Right through the back of the head, and it exited through the mouth. It was a free-hand shot from about 10 yards away, instinct shot (I didn’t look through the scope). It started moving, and was in some fallen timber being burned for clearing, and I was going to lose my shot-window, so I had to take my shot ASAP.

Luckily, I spent many years instinctually shooting archery and bowfishing, so I am a bit of a natural shot. I don’t brag about much, but I will occasionally brag about my shooting skills. [emoji57][emoji1360]

Stretched-out this timber rattler is right at 47-48” in length, and about 3.5” at the girth.

A quality 14.5" AR' will do just about everything reasonably well so long as you feed it accurate ammo and employ a good LPVO in a solid mount plus perhaps a RDS.

Life is easier if it's not overly heavy. This one weighs in at a very reasonable 6 LB 4 OZ. Components: SanTan Tactical STT-15L billet receiver set; Criterion Core C/L 14.5" barrel with mid-length gas; Surefire WarComp pinned and welded; Geissele 13.5" MK14 rail; Geissele charging handle; JP FMOS bolt carrier group; TriggerTech Competition trigger (3.5 LB); DHD Ionbond DLC coated small parts in lower - push pins, mag release, safety; V Seven parts in lower - titanium fire control pins, S7 tool steel bolt release; Vltor A5 recoil system; Fortis K1 receiver end plate and castle nut; Magpul plastic fantastic.

It’s definitely hard to beat and one hell of a versatile system. I adore my my mod H but practically speaking this 14.5” does everything it can and more. It’s really nuts to think we have such viable LVPOs that are replacing 3-10x40s from years back and making these systems a jack of all trades. I don’t kick doors in but this setup seems like it could easily go from clearing a house to engaging targets at 600m without issue. Even with the bipod it is surprisingly lightweight.

Only the best components are utilized in this build:

SanTan Tactical STT-15L billet receiver set; Noveske 10.5" hammer forged, chrome lined barrel, with feed ramps contoured and polished; Geissele 9.5" MK14 rail; Surefire WarComp; Geissele Airborne Charging Handle (ACH); JP Full Mass Operationg System (FMOS) bolt carrier group; DHD magazine release and short throw safety selector; V Seven S7 tool steel bolt catch; TriggerTech Competitive 3.5 LB trigger riding on V Seven titanium fire control pins; SBA3 brace; Geissele Super 42 recoil spring and H2 buffer; Magpul K2 pistol grip and 30-RD Pmag.
