That guy will get a visit from the Feds and wish he'd kept quiet about his money-making venture. The Feds will be all up his ass for "manufacturing" those "firearms" to begin with. And you can bet that if he doesn't claim all $21k on his tax return - that he'll be audited every year for the next 7 years - if he won't be already. I would say that in this case he poked the bear, and he'll get bit whether he's smart enough to see it coming or not.Your tax dollars at work:

And there goes another $100K of taxpayers money to do a 3 year investigation, hire public defenders and tie up the court for a number of months.... Who knows that case may go before the Liberal supreme Court and he will walk away, scott free. In the mean time, how 'bout those crooked elected officials ?That guy will get a visit from the Feds and wish he'd kept quiet about his money-making venture. The Feds have a serious hard-on right now about punishing any and everybody related to the 2A. I hope that gets shoved up their asses. And there goes another $100K of taxpayers money to do a 3 year investigation, hire public defenders and tie up the court for a number of months.... Is she in fact a woman and if so, how does she know? Or how do they know?I guess it's easier to just start an "Umbrella Topic Thread" and keep it all condensed in one place

We have this for storm water run off. In town our storm sewers are dated and mismanaged. Homeowners are charged for impermeable surface area. (Roof line, driveway, patio, sidewalks, including the public sidewalk). The money was supposed to go to repair the storm sewer system. I heard they spent the money on something else before they collected the first nickel.Clean Water Act.... “waters of the United States”
Throughout America the US Government is "rekindling" additional taxation on land owners. They have gone back to the Clean Water Act (October 18, 1972) and are levying additional taxes on land owners when rain water exits their property. Over the past 50 years this land has paid repeated taxes that are "supposedly" to be used to solve any issues of run off water. Obviously the funds disappeared and now the Government is wanting to, once again, tax land owners. There are many grass roots movements taking place currently. Another Government boondoggle and they want to tax land owners to cover their mismanagement of the programs.
And this is how you know the real gameplan behind the SPR releases. Do not be surprised if it isn't refilled.Another example of the flow of "Free Money". In five years no one will know where this money went. When a grant is dispersed there needs to be a time line and a hard copy report of what "We the People" got for our money. Who are the 20 companies ?
President Joe Biden announced $2.8 billion in grants for 20 companies to produce batteries for electric vehicles in the United States.

Well they DID send some of that money back in the form of campaign donations....You aren't supposed to remember that, or when Solyndra went bankrupt wasting 600M+ with numerous enriched millionaire employees ...
You are aware that taxpayers give oil companies $40 billion in free welfare every single year? You aren't supposed to remember that, or when Solyndra went bankrupt wasting 600M+ with numerous enriched millionaire employees ...
I've heard this argument forever...whether for nuclear, coal, oil...blah blah....stop giving ALL my money away and stop justifying the "next new thing" by using a stupid decision previously made. oh, and just for clarification, the majority of what you are talking about is NOT taxing something. somehow we feel that NOT taking peoples money is the same as GIVING them money. this paradigm is 1/2 the problem. You are aware that taxpayers give oil companies $40 billion in free welfare every single year?
No. Oil can be argued to be a national security/defense asset. Solar is a carnival game at best.Money is money. Anybody upset about Solyndra getting 0.5 billion one time should be furious about oil companies getting 40 billion every single year.

Maybe we will have electric tanks soon??Yep, try to fight a war without having oil available. I don't know of any tanks or armored vehicles that run on battery or solar energy.
I agree oil is a national security asset. Luckily we are self sufficient. However there are 47 years of proven oil reserves left. It would be wise to save the oil for national security and use renewables for electricity.No. Oil can be argued to be a national security/defense asset. Solar is a carnival game at best.
Maybe...There are many countries that have "oil" and owe the United States a lot of money. How about we take oil in barter for what they owe us and we can just sit on our reserves. The end game winner will be the last country holding "oil".I agree oil is a national security asset. Luckily we are self sufficient. However there are 47 years of proven oil reserves left. Renewables today are still around because they are being financed by the US Government. When renewables can pay their own way and make a profit then they will be taken seriously. Renewables are similar to a boat.... Just a hole in the water to throw money into.
JMHO... Not into a never ending debate.
I love "levelized" analysis....levelized with what? bs impact of the energy source on GHG? did we include the toxic waste disposal that is about to be a major issue with 20 yo solar panels? why can't you just do an apple to apple comparison? because it would be no contest. did you include the cost of the peaker plant that HAD to be sitting idle, ready to pickup the load when the solar array doesn't produce (no sun) or the wind doesn't blow?

i point out 5 things and you decide to mention something i didn't even mention? instead of trying to zing someone, how about responding to my points. If you could read you would see levelized means no subsidies.
The school also "immediately" changed its "public safety deployment to provide an increased presence and focus on the areas that have been most impacted by these incidents." Community members should expect and increased police presence on and around campus, Bard said.

This is an epidemic that is getting swept under the carpet. Areas are reverting back to "tribal" culture without any punishment for the offenders. That culture has migrated out to small town America. People are afraid to leave their home. This has been happening for some time now. That area is now overrun by "dindu nuffin" types. There are street robberies every day. Actually 1 death on campus and a few off campus. The school has sent out notice after notice to not walk alone and to rethink your travel path at night.
My daughter works for the hospital, but since she's involved in grant disbursements, she has to meet with the university faculty and of course she has to meet them at the school. She asks and gets police escorts everywhere she goes.
About a year or so ago, their police actually had to get certified to carry sidearms.
It's bad, and getting really bad. The hospital isn't much safer either.

A small town example of the "bad" stifling the "good" :
