A brilliant move. Watch any of the Ag Channels on TV and in order to stay in business the industry must develop both technology and automation. Sounds like this plant will have both. We may see the day when the only place to get milk will be at a Walmart.

Once upon a time, there was a man named Skiver who had a knack for getting other's to do his work for him while he played video games on the company computer. Eventually the company's owner took note and fired Skiver for "Lack of production" (LOP). Skiver had a wife and family to support and no one wanted to give him a job due to his past work performance. He had maintained an excellent credit rating but had no money in the bank and nothing to sell off to raise some cash. He decided to apply for as many credit cards as possible and use the credit to tide himself over until a job opened up. Surprisingly he received quite a few credit cards. He never mentioned to his wife and family that he had been fired. He would get up each morning, pack a lunch and return home after 5 pm. He always showed up with a bag full of groceries or items his family asked him to pick up on his way home. during the day he would swing by the Post office and collect the mail. Never did he show his wife the credit card statements. He actually got to enjoying his free time during the day and took up golf, fly fishing and long range shooting. He amazed himself at how long he could continue this routine. As credit cards maxed out it became more and more difficult to obtain a new credit card. The bill collectors started to pressure him. Then one day, while he was gone, the repo man showed up and towed his wife's car. He came up with some lamed brain excuse to put her off. Then, one day he returned home t find a big "Foreclosure" notice stapled to his front door. Rapidly, his family abandoned him and he was soon living out of his car.

"Republicans have talked about this for a long time, not always with specifics. But what tends to happen is, they talk about it, they get attacked, they fall back."

i make no claims of much insight,any expertise or experience beyond a lot of reading. i wonder if this might be a good thing? we have carrier battle groups that have recently supported action against non peer enemies (or called enemies by our gov). my thought is in the new world with hypersonic missles,mass drone attacks and more advanced subs held by china etc etc etc. are big carrier groups an answer? i think of bill mitchell and battleships in the 30s. we still used them in ww2 but mostly for ground support. without them we would still have prevailed. same in VN. very effective artillery but never threatened in VN or really in ww2. same might be said for cavalry in ww1/2, the same thoughts have been kicked around re tanks on the modern battlefield. i make no claim to know but i fear that the old saw "fighting the last " in current times may need assessment IMHO.Navy makes shocking aircraft carrier decision while China threat rises

Intel shares fell 4% at one point in extended trading on Tuesday after the company revealed long-awaited financials for its semiconductor manufacturing business, commonly called the foundry business, in a SEC filing.
Intel said its foundry business recorded an operating loss of $7 billion in 2023 on sales of $18.9 billion. That’s a wider loss than the $5.2 billion Intel reported in its foundry business in 2022 on $27.5 billion in sales.
This is the first time that Intel has disclosed revenue totals for its foundry business alone. Historically, Intel has both designed its own chips as well as done its own manufacturing, and reported final chip sales to investors. Other American semiconductor companies such as Nvidia and AMD design their chips but send them off to Asian foundries — often Taiwan’s TSMC — for manufacturing.
