Movie Theater The Expendables

Re: The Expendibles

I thought this was a great action movie from start to finish with some typical over the top (shotgun exploding towers and such) action scenes. Acting was great from the great cast, not something I expected. The Church scene was great between the three top dogs. Not as graphic as the last Rambo but close to it.
The hand to hand fight scenes mixed with combative pistol and knives was some of the best I have ever seen in a movie. I think everyone should have this film in their collection, an instant classic.

Re: The Expendibles

i thought it would be pure spoof but it actually had a moving story and touching romance. very realistic special effects in the fight scenes. wonderful acting that really fleshed out the characters. i expect an oscar for this one. i had hoped for more cowbell however.

Re: The Expendibles

The movie was pretty fun. You can't take it seriously, but you're not suppose to anyways. It's a fun action film that is meant to be a throw-back to the classic cheesy 80's action films. That is all.

It is not movie with a serious plot which you have to think about. Some of you make it sound like you expected to discuss the plot of the movie and its intricate inner meanings with your boyfriends over a cup of chamomile tea. It's not that type of movie.

If you go into it wanting to watch a cheesy, action packed, light on the brain (none of them brain thinkin' required) type of movie, you'll enjoy it. If you are going into it expecting something like Inception, you are going to hate it.

Re: The Expendibles

saw it yesterday afternoon, it was fun at times, entertaining and a wee bit over the top , all in all worth watching again just to see jet Li getting thrown around by Lundgren.

Re: The Expendibles

As it turned out, I missed the theatrical release, but made up for it by buying the DVD.

LOVED it.

Hopeless plot, over the top acting, and enough pyro to shift the entire planet in its orbit (sorry, I borrowed that line...), and I sure do hope they make that sequel soon. This franchise could end up being bigger than Rambo and Rocky, both...

Dayum!

I am sorry but you are wrong mythbusters proved you can indeed polish a turd.

No compound at all. They found some anciant form of dirt polishing and did it with turds. Make it muddy like water then get the moister out by rubbing it in your hands then refrigerate, do this for three days and you have a polished turd. Weird episode but I guess I now know you can polish a turd.
Here found the video,

Re: The Expendibles

I really enjoyed this movie. I didn't go expecting an academy award. Everything went well together for what I wanted. It was just a bunch of "cool porn" for me. Same reason why you stand in the local gun shop or look at a catalog and drool. Does one need a reason to do that? Explosions, tough guys, fights, fun scenes, and so on. The Catalina gunship was the best. Love that plane. When I first saw the teaser trailer and I noticed Statham sticking out of the forward hatch I first thought he was just sitting on the nose.

Also noticed Mickey Rourke was packing the Cold Steel Espada. I think the extra large version. As one you tube guy put it a "pocket sword." Wicked looking blade.

Terry Crews was hilarious. Watching him open up in tunnels.

Also for me it was kinda refreshing to see a movie where no one died but the bad guys. Sure its not very realistic but it is fun. Every now and then you want a happy ending. Sometimes I like the side characters more than the main. Who usually die in support of a weaker "hero" who some how makes it out.

Not in this case though. I enjoyed everyone.
