Just to follow up, I took my fix out this weekend and put 80 rds through the 308 tube. I also have a 20" 6.5 barrel, but haven't shot it yet. I normally shoot 5 shot groups, but with such a skinny barrel, that I'm only going to use for hunting, I shoot 3. All groups were .75 or smaller, with one well under .5, but not quite .25. When I chrono'd, I shot an 8 shot group pretty quickly, and it was 1 moa on the nose. 15 degrees outside, and I was shooting 168 fgmm. 2493 avg velocity. Once I finished with the formalities, I started shooting it the way I intend to, as a riflemans rifle.
For positional shooting,it is just awesome. Better ergos than an AR even, and I didn't really think that possible. Even with the skinny buttpad and relatively low weight, there is no recoil to speak of, with or without a can. It really is greater than the sum of its parts, and is my favorite rifle in many years. If it continues this way, it will be my go to for almost everything.
I will say that if your shooting is limited to bench stuff, or prone off a bipod, you will probably prefer other guns. If you like to be able to carry a gun easily, under load, in rough conditions, and shoot from any position at anytime, you will probably love this gun. I'm already thinking about a second one, just in case, and when the mini fix comes out, I'll likely get one as soon as possible.
