The Fix from Q

I think this platform would be perfect for the 224 Val. or how about the new 6.5 PRC. I just saw on EuroOptic today that the are going to start Magnum calibers in the Christensen MDR. 300 NM, 300WM 338LM. If Q would pull their head out of their a$$ and make it accept AICS mags so reloaders can actually load high BC bullets, it would be a miracle. The MDR is looking better everyday to me after actually seeing/handling one in a local shop. I wonder how long it will be until that is the case with "The Fix"?
Jump on that carbon hand guard, 700 trigger, and 90 degree bolt lift. Let me know how that works out for dispersion using inline...

Completely agree with you. I read through this thread trying to find factual first hand information, but was disappointed to see pages of posts comprised of nothing more than folks complaining that this rifle doesn't meet their exact PRS needs. Very reminiscent of the internet's reaction to Glock's G19X announcement recently. Not every product release is meant to satisfy every single individual's needs. If you personally don't see the point of a product that's fine; but it likely fills a niche for a large group of other people.

Craigos and koshkin: Thank you both very much for your honest reviews - truly appreciated. A lightweight, accurate sporting rifle with AR ergonomics that I can easily hike with and hunt with is exactly what I am looking for; so I've gone ahead and placed an order. Koshkin - thanks also for your remarks on how the rifle handles in various shooting positions. I regularly practice awkward unsupported shooting with my AR's and pistols - glad to know the Fix runs easily in those situations too!

Take care all!

-Dave
Thanks. We aren't trying to sell a gun to all of the 200 PRS shooters in the world. If it works for that, great! But, that wasn't the reason for the rifle. If you handle the gun and can't figure out that it's innovative and an improvement over the 700, you should buy the 700. Most people will understand the gun when they handle it.

To that extent it doesn't truly represent anything that a traditional design cannot do. A hunting rifle doesn't necessarily need to be tacticool and cost $3000+ to be lightweight, ergonomic and bolt action. Barrel changes? Why would I need to change my barrel when I can afford more than one gun for the same price. The fix is nice in that offers a non-traditional alternative. For it's stated purpose is it revolutionary? No. Costly? Oh yeah.

From my view the nice thing about the similarly positioned Christensen Arms MPR is that it does have a standard action that can be replaced in case the company goes under. They weigh approximately the same according to the user measured weight of the 16" models.

I think a lot of interested buyers look at the Fix more as a PRS rifle.
It is revolutionary. Anyone can see that. Carbon fiber doesn't polish the stench off of the 700. We aren't trying to compete with race version of your dad's 700.

Only move a chicken shit like you had.

How about I fly you out here and walk you through how an AICS mag works in a lowly (modular) Rem 700?
Sure, send a ticket. I'm glad your Remington works for you. You declined my challenge and countered. You are a troll and irrelevant to our industry and this thread. So, you are not interesting, just another blowhard and whiny bitch. If you can innovate anything more than we have, then you should man up and do it. Otherwise, you are always just a trolling ass clown.

The .338 Creed oughta fit REAL nice in an SR25 mag...

......with a 250 gr round nose.

Hahahaha!
Really? Besides being incorrect, what's your point? Post count? You are the perfect example of why these forums are becoming more and more irrelevant and the reason mfg.'s don't participate. If you don't see the usefulness of our products, don't buy them...I don't need your money or you as a customer. If you don't want our products on the basis of principle because you do not like me personally, that's also ok with me. If 8.6CM doesn't work for you, don't buy it...so far you sound like the Remington geniuses that thought 300blk was useless and would never sell. We haven't even released details on 8.6CM and you are already trolling and hating, its just super gay of you. You simply seem obsessed with me.

How about you knock your bullshit obsession off, stop being a strident asshole, stop fucking up the thread because bunny boiler Fatal Attraction to Kevin, and find a hobby, Glenn Close?

Awesome. Let me know what you think.

Kevin

Frank, owner, tried reaching out to you guys, spoke to the crew at shot last year no response ? Any chance of touching base on the rifle ?

PS, that jerk is on the list, he posts his BS again he is gone

Kevin, when are you going to release the details on the 8.6CM?

I am really enjoying my 308 Fix and I am very curious about a subsonic 338. Blackout on steroids would be a very interesting cartridge.

Thanks for the interest and support. We are currently testing several case lengths. Trying to find the best balance between what supports super and subsonic. When that's settled, we will open source case dimensions and chamber drawings, and release all details.

my buddies 20 inch model tipped the scale at aroun 7.2lb on his scale. Kevin brittingham. as Kevin stated earlier some of the guns hae some heavy bolt lifts. My gun got so stiff one shot this passed weekend i had to put the stock on my thigh to pull the bolt back. quit shooting right after that. the staff at Q have already replied to my messages on their facebook page on saturday and are going to send a shipping label and replace my old bolt to make the gun right. Kevin and company are some of the best guys ive dealt with from a company when it comes to customer report. the gun is stil a great gun even with the heavy bolt issue i sometimes have. still prefer it over my old remington action guns. wont ever go back.

Glad to hear. Thanks for the kind words. Heavy lift is gone. Thanks for the patience and support.

That's lower than expected. I figured it would be similar to desert tech prices with the extension.[/QUOT
Thank you.
Bolt assembly only. We send you a box and shipping label, or at least a label. Send a new assembly within 24 hours.

I am going to be in your neck of the woods in a couple of weeks, so I will probably bring my bolt assembly with me. I was thinking of coming over visit anyway and making a write up out of it for my website.

Kevin, when i was messaging the facebook page they said they preferred to have the entire guns so that they could test fire the rifle and not have to test fire my bolt in a test gun. im fine with either process but im sure its easier for everyone to send just the bolt. im gonna call your customer support tomorrow to figure out the details. if my buddy and i have to we can both send our guns in.

Sorry if I'm confusing things. Message me your phone number and I'll have someone call you.

Kevin. Will the new mini fix be in 16” barrels?

I know most guys are running 18” or longer barrels but a 16” 223 or 6.5g would be a hell of a predator gun.

Also any weight speculations on the mini fix?

Just to follow up, I took my fix out this weekend and put 80 rds through the 308 tube. I also have a 20" 6.5 barrel, but haven't shot it yet. I normally shoot 5 shot groups, but with such a skinny barrel, that I'm only going to use for hunting, I shoot 3. All groups were .75 or smaller, with one well under .5, but not quite .25. When I chrono'd, I shot an 8 shot group pretty quickly, and it was 1 moa on the nose. 15 degrees outside, and I was shooting 168 fgmm. 2493 avg velocity. Once I finished with the formalities, I started shooting it the way I intend to, as a riflemans rifle.:) For positional shooting,it is just awesome. Better ergos than an AR even, and I didn't really think that possible. Even with the skinny buttpad and relatively low weight, there is no recoil to speak of, with or without a can. It really is greater than the sum of its parts, and is my favorite rifle in many years. If it continues this way, it will be my go to for almost everything.

I will say that if your shooting is limited to bench stuff, or prone off a bipod, you will probably prefer other guns. If you like to be able to carry a gun easily, under load, in rough conditions, and shoot from any position at anytime, you will probably love this gun. I'm already thinking about a second one, just in case, and when the mini fix comes out, I'll likely get one as soon as possible.

Kevin, although I realize this flies in the face of the lightweight concept, how would the Fix do if one were to screw a 30” bull barrel on it in hopes of doing some F-Class shooting on the side? Would the receiver handle that or would you advise against it? Thank you

22" 224V, 8" 300blk

After that, probably 16" .223, not sure if 224V will nullify 6.5G, but if not it will likely follow .223

Weight is likely 5-6.5lbs

Thanks a ton for the support and kind words.

Heavier barrels are available. We are also doing larger butt pads for magnum calibers.

Mini Fix will be here soon. Starting with 224V and 300BLK.
