Night Vision The Official: Steiner C35 Thermal Clip-on Review and User Thread!

Figures Leonardo would be there. Those must be just wonderful things. Looks like it's meant for crew served. Can't wait to see that line extended (assuming it has not already) to individual small arms.
iRay just started teasing their Rico 1280. Should be interested to see pricing -

Where did you buy from if you don’t mind me asking

Post #314 from @Default.mp3. Mine should show up tomorrow

Just noticed that Steiner has blemmed C35s available for 2k USD directly through them: https://store.steiner-optics.com/products/nighthunter-c35?variant=43199627788532

Just curious. I ordered mine Saturday the 3rd, says delivery this Saturday. Didn’t list as a blem, but I’m assuming it is that or a demo.

What size battery’s and defender caps ?

What’s the take on using these? Never ran a clip on, so just asking. Well with the exception of the monoloc I had for a set of 14s long time ago. They had them being used on one of the Steiner videos for mounting. Would be nice to swap it over to a gun or two that doesn’t have a rail.

Hi Everyone - new here, but have been lurking on the hide forever and finally registered so I could join this discussion. I don’t have much experience with thermals, but I know night vision. Most of my experience has been with PVS-14s; my current set up being a pretty awesome WP unit. My experience with thermal is limited to the Leupold Tracker 2 HD. I purchased it for super cheap a while back just to have some fun. I’m now looking for a more serious thermal to mount behind an LPVO. This seems to fit the bill. 2 questions:
-How big of a problem is it that the C35 isn’t collimated? It seems to be pretty consistent from platform to platform based on the posts I read, and I guess it helps the settings can be easily saved
-Does anyone know of / have a good deal on one of these? I saw the 2k blem deal and super bummed I missed out on it. Best I have been able to find since is 3250

Brown shirt just delivered my shtynuh c35 (blem) . I can't find ANY blemish, it seems to be brand new, never issued.
I still think a S35 blem would serve me better as a buddy scope, if anyone has one the would like to swap 😉😉😉

update on C35

Why are these so cheap? I pulled the trigger on one but can't help but wonder what these are missing to make them so much cheaper than other options.
Because there's an insane markup on thermals. Luckily a dealer bought out their entire stock so now the price will go up. So it will put it more in line with its competition.

Did you read the thread above and apply the discount? With the current Steiner rebate I think DRT is being compensated for holding so many units and we are getting a great deal

I did. People are buying straight from Steiner for $2,000. Now after rebate it's $2450.

It was a smart move by DRT. Unfortunate for Those that missed out on the $2,000 ones

That wasn't going to reoccur after a certain point which was fast approaching. This will be better for more folks and longer term.

Well now that units will be sold out for the foreseeable future, expert voice was selling them for $2k non blems.

These come directly from Steiner, so now they’re not even listed because the inventory was all bought out.

Smart business move by DRT, but I’m throwing you under the bus and letting the cat out of the bag on your profit margin.

Do some calculations on what it costs to purchase 100+ units at even $2k a piece. Takes money to make money (and it is a risk to sit on that much inventory).

Maybe Steiner would have done their $2k sale indefinitely but that’s doubtful as people seemed to be happy paying $3k. In light of that, I think the current situation is favorable for both parties. Without the discount code it’s a little bit of a douche move but with the discount it’s good for everyone

Thanks DRT. Got one and am super psyched. $2,450 isn’t bad with the rebate. I’m okay paying $450 over the “blem” blowout so I don’t have to sit on my phone and refresh a page all day or scour the depths of the internet. A good price given what I have heard about the C35. Can’t wait to test it out
