Take this for what it’s worth. Twitter banned ZH for posting these preliminary theories and findings. But would make sense in light of the proposed solutions.

Yep 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 are the SJW instruction manuals.

I bet even if it is proven that ZeroHedge was correct, they would still be banned because it wasn't good to upset the people with the truth.....

TBH, if you do get it, then it would be "best" to get it before the system is overwhelmed.

Hard to say where this whole thing goes. Part of me think its a too convenient distraction. The other part says the next month could get ugly.

Hard to say.
When it looks like the cure is an AIDS drug, I'm not sure I want to be an early adopter...

nurse practitioners are next best thing to witch doctors. My sister is one. No chance I am going to see one.
I went in to the Dr.’s a while back when I was feeling sick enough to know something was wrong, they stuck me with the NP.

“Take Tylenol or Advil, your fine, beat it.”

2 days later I returned feeling even worse. They stuck me with another NP.

“Hmm, not sure what could be going on. Maybe just a virus, shouldn’t be anything seri....”

She hadn’t finished the sentence before I threw up on her, and her floor, and passed out. I woke up to EMT’s loading me in the meat truck. Turns out I had shingles, on my face, where you look right at it when you talk to me. While he did not say it outright, the ER doc was clearly disgusted that I had not been properly diagnosed on my first visit, and literally looked angry when it became clear that they didn’t know what was up when I got there prior to being transported.

That’s what happens when the secretary takes care of diagnosis duties...

I think the real danger of the corona virus is to the stock market. That’s what my main concern has been. And yesterday that realized by quite a few more people than me.

As for the chinese....all the footage i’ve seen come out of there and i cant believe a virus hasnt gone through already and set them back before this. Im not the smartest guy, but even i can see that place is a prime opportunity for a pandemic to start.
Glad you brought up the "Market".... The analyst are way ahead of all disasters. An old saying "Where's there chaos, there's money".... That downturn made some fund managers Billions of dollars. Those Hedging are drooling at the thought of plants being built in other countries to replace the Chinese production. India comes to mind as well as South Africa. This is simply a wake up call. Those that were already awake will make a fortune..... Even those selling propaganda.

I like NP's. I usually self diagnose and go to one and they give me what I want without going to 3 Dr's and getting a blood panel. If I'm really sick then I go to a Dr. but usually call my Vet friend and ask them what they think is going on first. If I can't ahold of him I have a friend that is an old SF medic. He can give any PA a run for the money.

Sadly this is my experience as of late. I'm about to start boarding an airplane to see my doctor in Florida who I trusted. Here I go to the clinic and I've yet to see a doctor. Just a NP. The cardiologist was PISSED (didn't say it but I could tell when the "they should be checking your triglycerides every 6 months MINIUMUM - like the FL doc did). Then my father died and my health took a back seat whilst taking care of him and his estate/business. No to mention my beloved critter who's about on his last leg.

Needless to say, NP's are fine for things you KNOW are wrong...my usual being sinus infection or ear infection. Anything more major than that and I can guarantee I need to see an honest to God internal medicine doctor.

First person OUTSIDE of China dies from 2019nCOv. 44 year old Chinese male who had flown to the Philippines from Wuhan.

Third deadliest day for China yet. The past 24 hours had seen another 45 deaths from 2019nCOv in epidemic stricken Hubei province, bringing the death toll to 304. Over 14,000 confirmed cases in Wuhan at the time of this post.

New infectious disease hospital to open in Wuhan on Monday. Livestream of the super-rapid construction of the Huoshenshan Specialized Treatment Hospital:

Earlier in the week, there had been rumors that scientists have found a certain genome sequence of 2019nCOv that shares remarkable similarities with the genome sequence of the HIV virus. The rumors may not be false. China is beginning to use two major HIV antiretrovirals to treat the nCOv infection. Results seem to be promising although it is still too early to tell.

Mortality rates are where it matters. 50 million Americans come down with the flu every year. Out of those, at most 80,000 die. That still gives the worst strain of the flu a 0.14-0.16% mortality rate.

2019nCOv supposedly have a mortality rate of 2-3%... Which is already more than 25 times that of the regular flu. And the numbers coming from ground zero are even more cause for concern. They identified the FIRST 41 patients to come down with nCOv. Out of these 41 initial cases from mid to late December, 28 have recovered, 6 had died, and 7 are still hospitalized. If this happens to establish a pattern, it will mean that nCOv has a mortality rate of over 15%. Which is extremely concerning.

Coronavirus Deaths Spread
Filipino officials confirmed the death of a 44-year-old man from the Wuhan coronavirus, marking the first known death from the virus outside of China. The man was reportedly a resident of Wuhan, the Chinese city in which it was first observed. New details from researchers highlighted the difficulty in containing the outbreak, with a long incubation period of up to two weeks and reports of asymptomatic transmission - when the virus spreads without those infected showing major symptoms. Scientists estimate each sick person spreads the virus to an average of 2.2 others (known as the "r nought" factor), higher than the common flu but less than the related SARS virus; the current strain is also less deadly than SARS, with a likely mortality rate near 3%. At least 362 deaths and more than 17,300 cases have been reported, though researchers believe the number of cases may be closer to 75,000 (see paper).

Explains why there are cases in Sin Fagsicko where it's totally accepted for homeless fucks to shit all over the street.
So.... During your morning commute past the local sewer treatment plant and you see the "steam" rising off of the airation tanks and get a wiff of a foul odor............ This is something to be considered. Another use for your Kestrel or IPhone wind meter... How long will it take the wind to blow it to your home?

Photo: Beijing Gaobeidian Wastewater Treatment Plant is one of the largest wastewater treatment plant in China. It serves a population of 2.4 million people with a daily capacity of 100,000 m3, processing about 40% of Beijing Municipality’s total wastewater volume.

Crap it’s reported that we may have a case in my home town. We just have one hospital, my wife’s an RN there. Lawrence is a college town and rumor is it maybe an exchange student that was recently in Wuhan. Hope they test negative, this is way to close to home for my liking. Plus I’ve Just started a large remodel for one of the pulmonologist doc’s at the hospital. I’m not worrying about it but it could turn into a shit show, guess we’ll see!

Looks like this one came back negative...

If you have a "foul odor" emanating from your aeration basin, you have some major problems in your process.

One of their largest wastewater plants?
35.315 cu ft in a Cubic meter.
x 100,000
x 7.48
= aprox. 26.4MGD
I'd say the stench isn't from the wasteplant.
That isn't much capacity for 2.4 million people.
In the US you'd generally see a plant that size serving less than 300,000 people, depending on industry, I/I etc.
Add antiquated distribution system and 26MGD ain't gonna serve half that number, even if it's mostly domestic waste.

2.4 million people on 26MGD system means a LOT of waste goes untreated somewhere.

The "OMG IT'S AIDS" track sounds like bullshit to me.

The comments are good.

Unconfirmed reports floating around from Chinese social media circles now that the government is using the widespread chaos caused by this epidemic to crack down on dissenters, either ones that have already made government blacklists for years, or ones that have posted online messages that the state does not like. Reports and tweets circulating that 'health personnel' are rounding up people who they suspected have fled from Wuhan and taking them to quarantine hospitals for "monitoring". Of course, these people appear to be healthy and are resisting their detaining forcefully, thus raising suspicions that "monitoring Wuhan refugees for nCOv symptoms" may be a much more sinister political plot by the government to quell opposition.

Of course, this might just be bullshit. There is so much fake news and fearmongering circulating on the Chinese mainland social media sites by certain people who simply take pleasure in watching the world burn that it is virtually impossible to filter signal from noise... HOWEVER, the PRC IS a totalitarian regime with a thoroughly documented history of cracking down on any political opposition so such reports have to be viewed seriously.

A situation like the one portrayed in the Twitter thread above opens the table for wargaming on just how to deal with such a situation. Personally, if you are going to barge into my home for no reason and drag me onto a van, I am going to immediately assume the very worst, that I will never see the light of day again, and I WILL kill as many of you motherfuckers as possible before I am completely incapacitated or killed in return. Even if all I had was a knife, the initial noise and confusion of the door finally breaking open, especially in a dark and narrow hallway, will give me ample time to do the stab, twist blade left/right, and yank protocol on at least 2 or 3 intruders. Bottom line is, in a situation like this, I do NOT expect to win. HOWEVER, I will make you pay before you get your prize, and at least two, three, or maybe even four of you mofo's will never return to your families again... And that is assuming that I am a mainland Chinese urbanite with only a knife. With a semiautomatic pistol, the body count will be much higher and it is safe to assume that I will be able to take out the entire first wave of the entry team while they are still in the doorway and trying to adjust their vision to the darkness.

Now, all of us here on this board possess enough firepower and are PERFECTLY capable of making the latter option happen, should we be faced with a situation like this. Assuming that we survive the first wave and completely neutralize them, we are then faced with much more serious and difficult choices: What do we do next? Over the past year and a half, we have seen how easy it is for armed citizens to make thousands of lighthearted memes about "stacking the entry teams" during the boogaloo. Those are always funny to see. However, what comes directly afterwards from a situation like that is no laughing matter. And it is ESPECIALLY serious when you have family and loved ones sharing your home which is now a battlefield.

Let's say you manage to completely obliterate the "first wave" of a politically motivated totalitarian attempt to seize you from your home and turn the members of the assault force into brain and blood jam. What is immediately going to result right afterwards will be a siege. These guys have overwhelming backing and resources behind them and now you will be left with a few options...

A. Try to make a run for it. It will be incredibly difficult, and even more so if you have your family with you. They most likely will already have your residence surrounded and you will not be able to break out of the ring unless you can coordinate help from the outside.

B. Hunker down and kill any others who try to enter. Remember now, you had the element of surprise on your side when you took out the initial wave. That is no longer the case afterwards. It will be a gun battle. Expect lots of return fire, sniper fire, and all sorts of noxious gases and pyrotechnics to try to flush or burn you out. For lone individuals, this is not a problem, especially for those who are already committed to a course of action. For those trapped with their families, it is going to be tough.

C. Taking one of the wounded thugs hostage, if there are any survivors to begin with. Kneecap the mofo and break his hands so he cannot defend himself. That will show resolve to the tormentors, buy you time, possibly enabling you to let your family members get away from the residence without being harmed, and also make the thugs outside less willing to deploy the artillery.

This is something that we, as the body of the armed citizenry living in a world where totalitarianism enabled by technology is increasingly common, must consider and develop strategies for. If this exact thing has not been wargamed yet, I might start a dedicated thread in the Fieldcraft board just for it.

That reminds me of the scene in the movie “outbreak” where they go around and pick up all the sick people from their homes and then you see them stack all of them body bags in a barn and burn them. Spooky

Yep got it too.

Just received notice from cruise line anyone traveling through China or Hong Kong will not be allowed to board upcoming sailing. Good to know are taking it serious.

Dear Guest,

After consultation with medical experts and public health authorities, we’ve decided that regardless of nationality, any guest or crewmember traveling from, to, or through mainland China or Hong Kong less than 15 days prior to their sailing will be unable to board any of our ships. We regret to have to do this, but due to the recent increase of coronavirus cases around the world, this precaution will help avoid the spread of this virus. We take this very seriously and have a responsibility to maintain a safe and healthy environment onboard our ships, as well as in the ports we visit.

Additionally, we’ve tightened our secondary health screening requirements and the following guests will need to undergo extra screenings to ensure safety at the cruise terminal:

  • Guests or crewmembers that have been in contact with individuals that have traveled from, to, or through mainland China or Hong Kong in the last 15 days.
  • Anyone that holds a Chinese or Hong Kong passport – regardless of when they were there last.
  • Anyone that feels unwell or demonstrates flu-like symptoms.
While these measures are conservative, our responsibility is to reduce the spread of coronavirus, in an effort to keep our ships safe and to ensure you are able to enjoy your time with us.

If you or someone in your stateroom has traveled from, to, or through mainland China or Hong Kong, please contact your Travel Advisor immediately, or contact us at 1-800-256-6649 or visit www.RoyalCaribbean.com/contactus for your local Royal Caribbean International office phone number.

Your vacation and your health are very important to us, so in an abundance of caution, we’ve taken numerous proactive steps to maintain high health standards onboard our ships. This includes:

  • Thoroughly sanitizing the cruise ship terminal before and after every sailing,
  • Special sanitizing of high traffic areas onboard multiple times a day,
  • Adding extra medical staff on each sailing,
  • Providing complimentary consultations with medical experts for all guests & crew,
  • Plus, the Captain will make two daily announcements during your cruise reminding everyone of how to stay healthy onboard.
And, you can do your part too! To ensure we all have an enjoyable cruise, here are some important tips to help keep you healthy and prevent colds, flus, and stomach viruses – both onboard and on land.

  • After using the bathroom and before any meal or snack (it’s a cruise; we know there’s lots of that), make sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
  • If you happen to sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue (or with your upper sleeve). Avoid sneezing or coughing into your hands or without covering your nose and mouth.
  • Use hand sanitizer as often as possible. Rub the gel thoroughly, and in-between your fingers, until your hands are dry.
And remember, if you don’t feel well while you’re onboard, it’s imperative that you immediately visit our medical facility on Deck 2 for a complimentary checkup. Our onboard doctors and nurses are always ready to assist. Your safety and wellbeing are always our top priorities, but we also want you to have an amazing time. Stay clean, stay healthy, stay happy!

Lastly, should we have to make any changes to our newly implemented travel regulation, we will let you and your Travel Advisor know immediately. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Sincerely,

If that happens, you really only have one option.
Realize that most likely death is certain for you and you are going to go on an all out attack right then and there without waiting for them to regroup, and take as many of them with you as they can and make it so painful for them that it gives them pause or a lack of people for the rest of your fellows.

Once you start, it's keep taking them out till you get stopped by somebody. That means hunting more of them down after you get the first wave, and following them back to their command posts and having more fun.

This is a perfect time to pull this stunt.
Who would dissent?
Labeled a "leper".
I always figured there would be a version of this when they finally
try to disarm/reeducate the masses.

Yes, it does have a certain stroke of genius to it... Grab an enemy, tell everyone he's "sick" and no one steps up to interfere. The video above is rather interesting. The "ambulance attendeants" clowns in the white hazmat suits grabbing the guy (who is fighting back) and shoving him into the van look more like cops in terms of their body builds than medical personnel as they prbrbly weigh maybe twice what the avearge Chinese weighs, and you can see they are dressed in all back where the white hazmat suits have torn or have openings. Pretty damn suspicious.... and scary.

I get a daily update from WHO, John Hopkins and the CDC.

The numbers are pretty staggering. I'll use WHO numbers below.

1/30 - Globally 7818 confirmed / 170 deaths / 18 countries

2/3 - 14557/304/23

2/4 - 17391/361/23
